scrambler at Barrett Jackson

Doesn't seem like a lot for that scrambler?

Absolutely! Lots of folks at these auctions are card carrying members of the 'more money than brains club' as Jay Leno likes to say. However, where else can one find such a low-mileage, highly optioned Scrambler? There can't be more than a small handful left!

They banged the gavel at 38. I think the 41800 includes that buyers commission, whatever that is???

I agree, what may be a one of a kind Scrambler sold for less than a new Jeep.

A little apples to orange comparison-- A friend of mine had a 17,000 mile 67 vette (with the right options) and I think a bit over 300K is where you start getting taken seriously on buying that.

Kind of puts it in perspective,

That's the money the house gets that the buyer pays I believe. Looks like 10%.

This effectively sets the high water mark for a scram at $40k.....short of being Reagan's...

Seems way low for the top of the range

You guys are right I was hoping to see 50k. IMO Barret is not the best place to sell that Jeep. Many Jeep people didn't know about this auction. I believe it would have done better on EBay.

The one with 688 original miles, IIRC did 37k then was flipped private sale for more. High water may be that one , but this I agree is the high water public data point

"powerful 4.2 engine"? Who writes this stuff?

Also, the current owner "recovered" the vehicle... that one took me a minute to figure out.
I was thinking seat covers, repaint, etc... not "moving vehicle from TX to CT"

Maybe I am just not awake yet.

Also, Dennis Collins was there selling a couple custom JK's. He may have bought one or more of these CJ's.

Hello, so all is took was a one month quarantine for me to catch up a little on life, and get to the things I have been wanting to do - like find these forums with other Jeep enthusiasts! The 5k Jeep referenced here belongs to me...as I am looking at starting to attend some events like the one from June 23rd-25th with my young boys. Does anyone know if this event is strictly for off-roading, or can Jeeps be shown as well?

Beautiful Jeep you have there. First, it's mandatory to post lots of pics of your ride. And welcome to the forum.

I think they have stock level trails there. Get that thing a little dirty. You'll like it, trust me. ?

I'm sure I would love trail riding, it's just not happening in this particular Jeep:) Just not sure of how the weekend/event is set up.....thanks for welcoming me to the forum, and I will try with the pics - still trying to figure out to get pics of my own kids on my phone

Trail rides are optional at these events. That said, there is always a “scenic“ group that goes places, not trail rides. They go to see local sites of interest. You can almost always park your Scrambler and jump in to an extra seat with someone and go out on a trail ride.
