I've always heard from people, not looking to find out personally, that you'd rather smash your thumb with a hammer than be bit by one of those bad bays.

So the tub is done... DONE for the welding now... only left is body work... onto the roll cage...

I figured the rollbar will take a bit, then when it is all welded, make sure it fits, get the top/doors going as well now that it is on the ground and hope to wrap up the cab section... then the bed needs welding and I think we can blow it apart... I am ready!

Had a few hours last night to clean up the garage and get some welding done... coming along, but this will take some time... very slow and steady.

Still need to do the underside and smooth a few things out, but all in all, it is coming along.

Humpty Dumpty fell over and lost its... leg?

One solid tack on that... I guess I never ran tacks on it when it was in the Jeep and it was just able to hold on for so long.
No matter, it was easier to clean it up and weld a little on it... will bolt it all back in and get it tacked where it belongs.

When I was moving it around the previous night I heard a very large "pop" but couldn't figure out where it had come from... I guess I solved that mystery.

This last picture looks funny and wavy, but I can assure you that it isn't like that... must be the grind marks and paint on the lower side and the light reflecting that makes it look all wonky.

Thanks... honestly I am tired a lot in the morning because I can only do this at night with all that goes on.
My biggest issue is myself... I run myself down constantly and never give time to recoup, which leads to a whole host of other issues.
I just want to get this done so I can get to the other project... and there is a LOT of time left on this one.

Had to fix the broken "leg" so boltd it back in and then welded up the area... did some on top as well.
I will get the top piece on as well this week (it is sitting where the cowl opening is).
It was originally on the Rockhard4x4 cage, so Iw ill put it back.

The cage fits well still... needed a little persuasion as with all the welding it did shrink up a little, but all in all, it will work.

Dang it, I read the Humpty post and thought that your knee gave out! Glad it was just a tack. Looks like it nearing the finish line.

All good for the most part... just tired and sore like normal.... nothing broken or torn up/off ;)

Nothing to report... cleaned up a lot of the garage and put stuff away and been selling/packing parts up to get shipped out.
I did keep tripping over stuff as I cleaned out the loft to get the deck furniture outside and cleaned up so I did this with it...

20200502_152520_resized.jpg

I have a lot more room now and I am not tripping over stuff all the time.

As for yesterday, it was actually what I would call HOT for a early May day... was sweating most of the day, but around 2 pm the kids had a "drive by" birthday party down the street, so I got the 7 out and cleaned up and we took it to go say happy birthday to their friends by way of giant poster board and hanging out of the Jeep.

20200503_145213_resized.jpg

It was great to be out and about... gas was a little old, so I filled her up with some fresh stuff and it seemed to like that a whole lot better.

Polished up some wheels and sold some parts and finally got the garage moved around a bit.
More people are finally gathering up their purchased parts now that I think things are slightly getting back to normal.

Need to break out the rest of the Jeeps soon if the weather is going to be this nice.

The funniest part of the weekend though was when my wife asked for an ironing board... I truly thought I was being setup for some bad gift joke, but nope... she wanted an ironing board... replaced.

So forgotten by me, when we moved in, there was one of those ironing boards in a wall.. well, the thing is probably from the 70's or 80's and was made with plywood of all things.

Steam and delamination caused it to buckle over time... so I got some nice oak and made up a new one and got it all installed with a new heat resistant pad... I think this will outlast us all vs. how it was before.

Trying to ease back into it...

Hope to get the Jeeps out this weekend and rearrange the garage, then I should just have to mow... lol.
