My "new" dream Scrambler

Sorry; went into a hole for the last 8 months. Shortly after the last post we put an offer in on a real house with a yard and a bigger garage and stuff, which required immediately selling the condo and being homeless for a month+ and putting all our stuff into storage yada yada yada. Closing was a nightmare which happened right after Christmas, and now it's ski season. The Scrambler has been (sadly) living outside until we can deal with the renovation to add another garage section with an 8' door, but it did get a Christmas tree this year . . . which was when I discovered a broken front left hub. But it's taken lower priority over the ZJ's deferred maintenance, and now a litany of house projects to include a rehab project of the existing garage. Aside from gently tossing the hardtop on it, it's exactly how it was in July. I still haven't moved the hardtop clasps to the new windshield frame, nor have I finished the rest of my thumb screws. And we have so much snow that I'm certain I'll be skiing through May!

AK-RWC, thanks for posting your build up on here. It's the only one I've found utilizing a new tub!

That AK4x4network site is down though! I can't see your more detailed comments about fitment, I'm using a new tub as well

His is an Aqualu aluminum tub, is that what you're using?

Very, very different from one of the Omix/Willys Overland steel reproduction tubs out of the Phillipines. Lots of builds on here with those though.

Ah ok, i'll have to dig deeper on the search then. I'm using the Willys overland

Great Thread, just starting mine. Did you find that all the body mounts are different heights?

Man; it's been more than 7 months since I logged in here! Sorry!
The only mount set that I had an issue with was the one just forward of the gas tank. I ended up cutting some additional spacers for those two body mounts.

And, an update.

I’m tired of breaking my front axle. My buddy with the Ultra4 car (post #37) wasn’t ever able to break his Jrat Sixty9s in RuffStuff housings, and was tired of kicking his spare axles around. It wasn’t cheap to get them from FL to AK, but they arrived today:

The other pic of them is too large to upload. Either way, these things are beef. But I’ll need to throw probably $3K at them now since I want 5.13 and lockers rather than 4.88 and spools, and they have absolutely no outer/brakes/hubs/shafts.

I had the same issue, but as it turns out my body guy found the door fitment better as he shimmed those two and the rear most mounts
