Has anyone used dynamat on the inside of the firewall and the floor?

VS

Spray lining them?

Let me know your thoughts….Thanks!

I believe water can/will get under the dynamite which would be bad. Depending where you live/how you use it it might not matter.

I used it in my 65 Oldsmobile 442
Put it everywhere! Roof doors floors trunk that stuff is awesome. But I never have taken the olds off road and it has certainly never seen rain

My 04 Ram 1500 has dynamat on the cab floor and walls and in the doors. The stereo can be cranking and it is not very loud outside with the windows up.

We used it all over in the cab of my son’s J-10 to keep out noise.

This is prob not going to see much off road time if any at all…i just always wanted a jeep and this is it.

It’s taking some time to build…that’s for sure!

Thanks for all the comments!

I’m leaning towards just spraying it right now…my hot rod buddy that’s helping me build this swears by dynamat but doesn’t really care…he just wants it out of the shop (and I do as well…lol)

Very nice! Echo what's been said, it's great stuff (from the vehicles I've been in, never done it myself but I really want to do my 77 Cherkoee.)

Love the color!

Worried about moisture getting under both…is one better than the other?

I would say no on both counts, personally. Would have to be a rig that never sees rain/water IMO (like my Cherokee)

After seeing what moisture under the carpet did to mine, I would say no. And really, how quiet is a CJ ever going to be?

On an unrelated note, what motor mounts are those?

I used Dynamat on the front of the engine firewall, the inside of the cab to the rear and the Postal top. I have carpet on top of that and there is very little road noise and engine noise even with the Hemi in it. For moisture, I did coat everything with POR15 before I put it in. I have no issues with rust or moisture years later.

If you're still in CA, I would think the weather there may have a lot to do with lack of moisture issues.

I'm close to South Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains and we do get our share of winter moisture and lots of snow. But you're accurate on the summer weather with low moisture levels. Low humidity with very high fire danger in this area. But the Dynamat is a great sound and temperature barrier with all the rest I've done on the Scrambler.
