Well finally start building

Well after speaking with WFO they suggested assembling the front springs (which I did) I then pulled a length from eye to eye and came in at 43.125" which is dame close to the measurement that was stated by FLCJ8. Now from WFO suggestions front shackles at 90 deg. Tack weld front rear hanger. From what I gather I'm looking for the front shackles (with vehicle weight) to be around 50 deg forward.Jeep front eye to eye 2.jpg

Id would switch the rear hangers around. Angle so spring hanger wont get hung up on obstacles. :headbang:

Trevor (owner at WFO) is a friend... and a really great business person.

It also looks like you have them on the frame backwards.

Yes there is a very good chance they're on backwards. I had a fifty percent chance of getting it right (one more reason I don't play around with Vegas). Currently they are just placed on frame will rotate them as you folks recommended. Then probably tack weld, turn frame over and install drive train. Question with a fully built jeep (I mean completely assembled) what approx. angle should the front hangers be at?

Remember YJ springs are 1" longer.

I use dogleg shackles to eat up some of that, but you can also see the angle on mine, which is spring over on a Chevy 60 front.

I see dogleg thanks. The springs look almost flat as she sits. Is that fairly normal or.... spring over?

Also your rear mounts appear to be in the stock position so I can see the reason for the dogleg shackles. In my case the rear mount can be welded to compensate for extra length YJ springs. Great info thanks.

I wanted flat. I do have an all aluminum LS1, twin batteries and a full winch/bumper set up.

Well after more research and speaking with folks that know more than me and listening to you folks. For my purposes for this 8 it was recommended to go with the reverse shackle kit. It's kind of what my gut told me so... I removed the old sleeves that were installed 25 years ago ( they were a 1" ID) so with bushings and bolt sleeve the bolt was 7/16". Purchased 1.250" OD poly bushings from daystar and 1.250" ID DOM metal sleeve material.
Now since the new OMU YJ springs are wider than original I have some room to make up at the frame (attached pic will explain). I'm sure anyone who has made this mod has run into this. One member suggested adapter shackles (looked into them but appear not available). I could weld plate on frame (only a farmer welder) or grade 8 washers or. All suggestions welcome.

Weld in your tube to take up the offset and space the shackles correctly.

Not tough.

That said, I could find you offset shackles, but since you're doing this, it's the best way.

I'd then run a boomerang.
