So, I made a change. I know there are some who like them and some who don't I am aware of all the pros and cons, but really have wanted to do it for probably 20+ years. I wanted to have first hand knowledge once and for all instead of second and third hand info from online forums. If I find I...

I think you will need to compare apples to apples when buying/selling these rims. I think you have 5 factors to consider: 1) Size (15x7 or 15x8) - Mine are 15x8s 2) Condition - Mine are a solid driver grade. I am very pleased on how nice they are in person, but def not a resto grade. 3) Drilled...

Looks like I should be able to get some time each week back to it now. 1) Scored a set of 1980 rims and caps about an hour up the road. Super stoked. Nice driver...

Ok. Leaks. 1) Shift Shaft Seal 2) Dana 300 bottom pan cover 3) b/t trans to adapter 4) pan gasket 5) xcase input shaft - I hope to Jebus I got them all once and for all. It will suck if I see a single drop. Had to weld in a frame nut for trans pan that broke loose and then tap all to 3/8". New...

    tF999 question

Actually, upon thinking about it I think I answered my own question. The seal did its job and kept fluid out of the adapter housing. I think we are good to go.

    tF999 question

Hello all. A question for my fellow tf999 folk. I pulled my xcase and there is atf on the rear output shaft of the trans and atf in the dana 300 input shaft. I assume there should be none? Or is a tiny bit like shown normal? Is there another seal at the back of the trans when this adapter...

Fixed the transfer case leak with a new Novak cover. Was getting ready to fix the transmission pan gasket leak and noticed a leak coming from in between the trans and adapter housing so xcase and adapter is coming out next to fix that. One of the previous owners stripped out the threads in the...

14th Annual CJ-8.com Secret Santa gift exchange - Open Now!

Thank you to my secret Santa who sent awesome gifts, one which was drinkable, back in early December. I thought I was forgotten but I listed a business address of ours that we rarely use for some odd reason. Thank you again!

Fixed leaky shift seal. Was able to get it from the top. Starting the painless kit now. Probably will not have a ton of extra time for the next 2 weeks, so I will just do a few hours here and there when available. Hope to fire it by the end of the month.

Ok, the dash kicked my ass for no good reason. First paint job came out perfect, but color looked brownish compared to PK1 blk. Bought Mopar PX8 blk which looks to be same shade, but paint did not lay down smooth, even with what I consider to be perfect prep work. So, sanded with 600 then 1000...
