We've had this 84 for several years. Bought it out of Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
Seller said it came from California via his brother in-law.
It's the best driving Scrambler we have in the fleet.

Been talking about getting this one painted. Well our body man was looking for something to do.

Pretty much got it blown apart in 2 days. Going to be a frame off rebuild.

There's nothing more fun than tearing a rig down and putting it back together again! That looks like it's going to be a great build.

Tub is off the frame.

All frame body mounts are in great shape!

Tub on rotisserie ready for my paint & body guy.
After the junk I've had him work on before, he won't know what to do with one in this condition, LOL!
Need to finish loading the all the miscellaneous pieces and get it delivered (2 hours) this weekend.

Got tub and miscellaneous parts dropped at my paint/body guy Friday.

I've been researching dry ice blasting as a possibility for the chassis/drivetrain.
Anyone have any experience with it??????

I don’t have personal experience, but when I worked at the NASA rocket factory, they bought an expensive system from Cold Jet. The engineer who bought the system was in my group. It was used when the “ installation foam “ on the External Tank of the space shuttle fuel tank needed to be removed for some type of repairs needed. Sand or glass shot would have contaminated everything. The dry ice just disappeared. Very expensive equipment 20 years ago and several separate parts to make it all work. That system would probably be cost prohibitive. The main unit was 15 - 20 feet long

I looked into it awhile back. Sunbelt Rental rents the equipment out down in this part of the country. IIRC it takes a fairly large compressor to run it, think one of those big tow behind deals you run 90 pound jack hammers off of. And then you have to source the dry ice.

I looked into it for that black CJ7 I have and just couldn't make the cost/logistics work out for one vehicle. Now, if you had some buddies and several vehicles ready at one time......

I recently saw something on Facebook about it and the end results, if real, was very impressive looking. No idea on the cost.

Same here. Have seen videos and definitely impressive results

Sent down another tailgate and passenger fender.

Appears to be some filler and rust under the decals/paint.
Think we will probably pull the outside panel off in that are for further investigation.

And if necessary replace with a new panel. Located these on eBay.
We've used these in the past but from a different seller. Will let you know how they fit if we go that route.
