    Hagerty updated value

Hagerty went public in the last year or two....lots of things changing internally with employee & perk cuts, etc. Would not be surprised if they are changing eligibility requirements for policies too.

    Air compressor set ups

I have a york AC compressor set up for an air compressor on my Scrambler. Easy set-up with factory brackets, etc. if you are running an AMC engine. If you are interested I can give you more details.

First day/last day/two yellow Jeeps (not CJ-8 - proud dad warning)

Good deal. My daughter just finished her doctorate in PT.....if Laura ever wants to talk with somebody about PT. If you want any suggestions for the Marquette area, let us know...we've spent some time around there and gobs of time in the Keweenaw.

First day/last day/two yellow Jeeps (not CJ-8 - proud dad warning)

Eric, First off - Congratulations! It's a huge accomplishment for you all! You do know NMU has a 4wd club right? And some of the best Jeeping in the State is in the western UP! I'm guessing Laura is going to going to love it in Marquette! Yeah, and then there's her studies......what does...

    Cherokee Chief

That is awesome. My 85 waggy was one of my most favorite Jeeps - Michigan winters (rust) finally won out.

    ? for Gladiator Owners

Thanks for the input....sorta knew this was the answer all along, but a guy can always hope. Drove a Mohave package one on Friday. Pretty fun truck. It was an automatic, but was impressed, nice shifts and well tuned to the power curve of the engine (at least when empty).

    ? for Gladiator Owners

I've had pretty good luck with the 3.6, but there are definitely a few things that I don't like: 1. Oil cooler/filter housing assembly leaks 2. Poor access to spark plugs 3. Not much for low end torque, but that seems par for the course with most modern engines.

    ? for Gladiator Owners

Thanks for all the input. I'm guessing we carry 400-500# of equipment, tools, and supplies in the bed of the truck daily. When we started this business almost 20 yrs ago we worked out of an XJ, because it's what we had...It worked, but was tight and we now carry additional equipment. Switched...

    ? for Gladiator Owners

Not sure if this should be here or under Jeep Brand Talk......but maybe a few of you can help educate me - @AdamH @spankrs come to mind. The time is coming to update one of our vehicles. Either my wife's JKU or my truck. Both are paid for, but unfortunately probably on the same schedule...

    #duckduckjeep...???

I agree....and "OH by the way - nice wrangler! wow that one is kind of long, is it supposed to be that way?" I did receive a "Unicorn" duck on my scrambler one time.....I'm guessing someone actually knew it was a fairly rare Jeep or maybe they just new something was different about it Mostly...

Damn that Yukon is nice! That is when they were still real vehicles. We had a 1999 Tahoe....saved my wife and daughter's life in a 1/3 ish head on collision, they both walked away with bruises and scratches. (Guy turning left got rear-ended by a drunk/high driver and jammed into my wife's...

bigwalton Postal teardown/rebuild - what would you do?

Not going to dispute you Ron, but my 2006 Ram2500 5.7L Hemi has 230,000 miles on it and no issues. It spent the first 125,000 miles of its life as an Alltel communication field service truck in FL. Got to believe it was idling w/the AC on all the time. We use it for land surveying, it idles...

bigwalton Postal teardown/rebuild - what would you do?

I do really like the fact that they dyno test and break them in before shipping. I believe HESCO does the same. All in all that's not terrible (referring to the cost)..... apples to apples $ comparison, your looking in the same ballpark to buy a LS long block crate motor and then you have to...

bigwalton Postal teardown/rebuild - what would you do?

I was curious as I put a 4.0L in my Willys Wagon project many years ago, back when it was still sort of modern w/eventual plans of going stroker. I am just now getting back on this project and it may actually see the light of day this summer...as I am getting down to brakes and cleaning up the...

bigwalton Postal teardown/rebuild - what would you do?

BW- I know you've had some issues with the 4.0L lately, and are considering a V8, but curious why you are moving away from a stroked version of the 4.0L? Seems like it would have similar power & fuel economy (albeit limited vs. what you can modify V8's to or a Hellcat). Cost maybe about the...

A little wisdom from Jay Leno on restoring vehicles.

Randyzzz - yes that is from Leno - that was an editorial in Hagerty magazine and a great read!

    Saginaw steering gear rebuilding

https://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/ I'm not sure if they will rebuild and return your gear, but they ship you a remanufactured one and you return your core. I put one on my CJ-8 and am very impressed - no slop and no leaks. They are not cheap, about twice as much as a NAPA remanuf. After my...
