    Current Scrambler pics

@barrys @Chamba Much of my Scrambler is based on that project. That was Mark Werkmeister's project. He is in the First Annual San Juan Scramble held in 1998. I posted our video on YouTube. I towed my Scrambler from California. Terrible video quality compared to what we have now!

    Current Scrambler pics

Got the Scrambler out yesterday to a fund raiser for the Rubicon Trail Foundation. The CTI trailer was there! See my full post with more pics here: https://www.cj-8.com/threads/voodoo-blue-82-complete-refresh.52225/post-464650 Here is a teaser:

    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

It's been a little bit since my last post. Was dialed in for two jeep trips but life happened. My otherwise healthy 88 year old father fell and hit his head at night. Required 8 staples. He went home after that but started slurring his speech and talking slowly. We called 911 and they got...

    2.5” vs 4” lift

I used the Ford F-250 shock towers in the front. They work great. Part #: E5TZ-18183 And there are some pics in my build thread here: https://www.cj-8.com/threads/voodoo-blue-82-complete-refresh.52225/

    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

I also installed a Tuffy locking storage box just behind the front seats. This is keyed the same as my glove box and center console. This will keep my tools and recovery gear locked up at all times. Then I can still fit my Dometic CFX3-45 refrigerator and three of the Rubbermaid 24 Gallon...

    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

If you recall, I added the stereo amp to the bottom of the Tuffy locking console. I finally made the "false bottom" to protect the wiring. I used some left over 1/2" thick commercial cutting board and 1x1 wood blocks to elevate it. I needed 1.5" to clear the wiring but gave it 3" to allow...

Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes

I've never sat in suspension seats. How do they feel compared to good quality standard non-suspension seats? Noticeable improvement over bumps? Would love your impressions if you have formed one yet.

When's the last time you drove your project?

If any of them want to sponsor me, I'd be open to that! :) As for your wife....she better smack you upside the head for that comment! Mine would!

When's the last time you drove your project?

This was November 17, 2019 - the day I started tearing it down: And this was September 25, 2022 - the first day I drove it around the block. What a glorious day! That's 1043 days. Or 2 years, 10 months. Or 34 months. And this is from a nice Sunday drive last weekend. I have about 700...

Cab over campers-Anybody have experiences with these?

If you want to run the AC and you are not in a campground with hookups, you will need to bring a generator large enough to handle the load from the AC. Same for a microwave, everything else can run off the batteries. In my pic, the compartment you see to the bottom right of the main door is...

Cab over campers-Anybody have experiences with these?

I had a Lance 820 camper for my 1999 F-350 7.3 PowerStroke Diesel. I bought both new in 1999. I still have the truck with 250K miles and it is going strong. I used the Lance a lot and loved it. Sold it in 2021. It was at the point of needing some refresh work. The roof and sides needed...

    Giving it a Jolt

Ditto. I too spent a lot of time chasing down a squeak while wheeling. Damn hood latches!
