When's the last time you drove your project?

This was November 17, 2019 - the day I started tearing it down:

And this was September 25, 2022 - the first day I drove it around the block. What a glorious day!
That's 1043 days. Or 2 years, 10 months. Or 34 months.

And this is from a nice Sunday drive last weekend. I have about 700 miles on it now. Still doing things to it. Right now I'm working out my storage system for longer off-road trips and getting the splash guards back underneath to keep mud out of the cavities. Still need fab and weld on the spare tire hold open pieces and paint the rear bumper. Still procrastinating on the hard doors. That will happen closer to winter I guess.

Full disclosure: I have a picture of your 8 on my work iPad as the opening screen. It's got kind of a fantasy/stalker kinda vibe about it, so apologies in advance.

My FOs often comment "is that your Jeep? That's awesome!." Then I show them mine and they go "oh..... that's ... nice too ". It's like I've got a picture of Jennifer Anniston where my wife should be, then I show them my actual wife......

If any of them want to sponsor me, I'd be open to that! :)

As for your wife....she better smack you upside the head for that comment! Mine would!

The last time I drove it was onto the trailer to head down to Vero Beach for bodywork/paint.
Still waiting to be reassembled. :(

Since my engine lost oil pressure in February. But I just heard from Phoenix Engine that they are finally assembling my new engine and it should be here within a month....... so fingers crossed. Hopfuly she'll have been down less than a year by the time I get her back on the road.

Wish I'd just rebuilt my old one.
Those manual transmission gremlins I'm telling ya, go 999 😂🤣
This is the way 🤭

Actually if you think about it it's a high compliment as much as we love our Scramblers 😇

Today to the grocery. Always fun. Needs suspension, just waiting on some back ordered springs.

Friday. After I adjusted the steering wheel back to straight(ish). Drove the Willys yesterday. But I drive the Scrambler almost daily.

Well after the rebuild mine was my daily driver up to 3 years ago. I picked up a used 2005 Grand Cherokee to replace it for driving to work. It was regulated to nice days and having fun. Then last year the GC blew a radiator hose and killed the motor (warped head). Scrambler became the daily driver again. 2 weeks in and an AC hose blew on me. Trust me at 108 in TX you do NOT drive a vehicle without AC. I ended up with a 21 Gladiator with the ecodiesel as a daily driver. The Scrambler has been put back on puttering around duty. Drive it last about a month ago when chruch had a car show. It gets out when it is nice and I can put the windows down or run the heat. Now if work will settle down and I can just get the AC fixed.
