I don't know what those racks cost new but FWIW a place near me is selling a used one with all hardware but no lights for $600 obo. That price sound high to me for a used rack.

Stuff like that shouldn't even happen. Had my truck at. Shop in March. Told them I wanted the old parts, 5 weeks later when I picked my truck up, parts were nowhere to be found(they told me 6 days). Yeah I was(still am) pissed at the shop.

Do new amps get hot? I know older ones could get hot. The sealed box with a few holes have me thinking mount a small 12v fan to move air, unless new ones don't really get hot.

That was an unique way to display parts for sale.

Definitely wire the headlights through auxiliary relays that are turned on by your headlight switch. I did that thirty years ago on my first Scrambler and I was amazed at how much brighter the stock halogen headlights were.

Make sure you treat the rust with something good before you cover it up. Pretty sure Quadratec sells some.
