And that is why I like to have a CJ windshield replaced with a YJ windshield. Rubber is already sealed to the glass and it gets sealed onto the frame.
Nice job with the CJ rubber.
If you have nothing, then maybe get a CJ7 or YJ tub and extend it. Or buy some of the panels for a CJ8 new and fabricate the others. Buy the time you locate some doors you will probably find a tub for parts that will make the build easier.
If you measure in the door jam from the center of the top hinge to the point where the latch post comes out, it should be 35 1/4" according to both sides of my wife's very original Scrambler.
If you can't find a rear door, you could use a CJ tailgate or a YJ tailgate and then build your own upper either lift hatch or two swinging doors. If the blind spots are a problem, put window in. Just do what is going to be fun and useful for you.
Looks like a nice rack that you could pile a lot of stuff on. If you aren't using a full top the back legs probably could be made to mount at the base of the roll bar. Barrys is right, it is priced for the person with the rare LJ that wants that style rack. Looking on Ebay, new roof racks for...
A picture of the LJ rack would get more input. I think they mount on the windshield hinges and the back bumper. You could probably extend the rack in the center somewhere. Some racks are made to be assembled and would be easier to take apart and extend. You just need to take a good look at the...
If the gears haven't been changed, you could look on the machined spot next to the cover and find the Letter/s stamped there and that indicates the gear ratio. Find the Letter and who ever sees your post first will look it up for you.
Most, but not all, of my customers who order steering wheels, grab bars, and bumper end caps are on the east coast. That makes shipping for these boxes such a big expense. No one ordered any the first time I offered these so I just figured the total cost would be an obstacle. Joe makes these at...
I like the grill & fender guard. Haven't see one like that before. And there are those bumper extensions like I reproduce. They seem to be standard on exports. The CJ-7 Wagon just might be the hardest to find of all the 80s CJs.
The windshield opening is the same in our CJs as it is in YJs and probably TJs. When I go to the glass shop I have them order the later glass with the rubber lip already on the front side of the glass and the separate extruded rubber that goes on the frame first. My wife's Scrambler has the...
