    Well finally start building

It looks like you need adapter shackles from 2” to the 2.5” springs. There are several brands probably, I have them on mine from Rubicon Express. It looks like they’d work at the rear the same as they do at the front of the spring. Rubicon Express RE2785 is what you want, but it looks like it’s...

    Speedo cable length w/ automatic

Those 2 make it pretty confusing….

    Speedo cable length w/ automatic

The ones I’ve seen listed say manual transmission, so I figured there’s another one for automatic. I’m not really sure.

    Speedo cable length w/ automatic

I’m looking for the part number or length of the speedometer cable for a 258/TF999 Scrambler. It’s probably the same one as a CJ-7, but I haven’t been able to find it. Anyone know it or have it?

    Dana 300 - No 2wd but 4Hi and 4lo are fine

Anyone who has done a 4:1 conversion on their Dana 300 will have an almost complete set of internals left over. I still have most of those pieces in a box. I’d say that if you can figure out what you need that it’ll be pretty easy to source here. Before you go tearing into your transfer case...

Help Identifying Pilot Bushing on AMC 401 with TF904 Transmission

Any year Jeep that had a 401 with an automatic would have been a T400. They used a very thin pilot bushing like it appears you have. The TF904, 999 and 727 don’t use any pilot bushing, forcing the transmission and engine together can possibly damage either one. Remove that thin bushing and you...

    Opinion time. Seats

You might see if you can go to a Jeep event and try out sitting in some different seats. What’s great for me might be awful for you. I have Mastercraft seats in mine, they bolted to the oem seat mounts and I really like them, your results may differ.

    Towing ?

Look at the Navaho duel diaphragm booster and m/c from Off Again Off-road. I’ve been running one for years and it was a major improvement in braking.

Just part of the way there. It won’t really be done until I get the duel exhaust on it and a temperature sensor sorted out. Also having a bit of an issue getting 100% throttle.

    Current Scrambler pics

Finally put decals on mine after owning it for 25 years, well actually Dustin (Jeeperdd) did. I’ve also managed to take care of most of the multiple issues that all seemed to assert themselves at the SOA National event last month.

    Towing ?

Most of the issues of towing with a CJ are more about stopping. Brakes are pretty marginal with 33’s, add a camper and it could get pretty scary quickly.

    DOJO's 1st OCHO

I have an 8” Tuffy console, I raised it up about 3.5” with blocks, then mounted the amp on the bottom side of the console.

    Alternator upgrade???

I’m in a similar position, I just replaced parts on it after only 120 miles on it. It’s working again now, we’ll have to see how it holds up this time. I replaced the pinion gear assembly and removed shims for better gear engagement. If this doesn’t work, I’ll put an old original starter back on.

    Alternator upgrade???

Power master has a small and large case alternator. Call their tech line. They actually answer the phone. I’ve been dealing with them about my starter.

Coast to Crawl: South Carolina to Rubicon Trail and back

I’ve seen those taillights catch on a tree while trail riding and just pop out with no damage. They just got popped back in place and were all good.
