It's a very ancient thread, but someone asked me today for details of the door corner fillers. I did this drawing shortly after I finished the project years ago, and it was available until last year on my Scrambler site, which is no longer, so here's the drawing.
It's fine to use in a hardtop, but I doubt you'd be happy with it long term, it'll scratch. If you check the prices you'll probably find that Lexan/plexiglass isn't really much cheaper than getting safety glass cut.
I recently did a fiberglass JK Barn Door for a friend and he got the safety...
No need to search around for some used windows that might or might not fit, most auto glass places can cut custom flat windows for you out of safety glass and provide the gasket to mount the glass in. When I did the LJ Safari Cab, I took paper templates down to a local auto glass place and had...
I don't want to hijack this thread, so the only project I'll post a photo of is the "covered wagon" top I'm working on for my military trailer (I'll post it because Streetsnake wants higher sides on his trailer :)), shown here in the family room where it's convenient to my sewing machine. It's...
You can actually stack the Jeep tub style kits, here's a photo of a pair of tubs someone bought to build a cargo trailer with higher sides. In this photo he's just done a mockup, I haven't seen any photos of the finished trailer.
Check out www.dinoot.com. Kits for Jeep-tub style and military replica trailers. You could get just the basic fiberglass tub from them and assemble it on your own frame (or a Harbor Freight frame), or get a more complete kit with welded frame, or get them to build you one custom to your specs.
The Hurst Commando came from the factory with a hood scoop:
I made a mold for a fiberglass replica Hurst scoop a while back, here's what a scoop out of that mold looks like on a CJ hood:
The bulge in the original Hurst scoop had a tach; since most more modern Jeeps have a tach in the...
Did you send them a message through the "Contact Us" link on their web site? I checked with them to make sure they received your message and it sounds like they didn't, not sure why. The contact there is Jack Enfield, Jack.Enfield@morryde.com, if you send him an email directly he'll be able to...
I checked with MORryde to make sure they received your message and it sounds like they didn't, not sure why, but the contact there is Jack Enfield, Jack.Enfield@morryde.com, so if you send him an email directly he'll be able to help you out.
Back in October when I completed the molds for the barn door, a friend and and I molded one for his 2014 JKU. He's got the factory hardtop, so this was a test of the compatibility of the barn door with the factory top. We installed a wiper and defroster grid in it, so it's functionally and...
I saw them too, in fact I took a picture of them. This past winter I had several snowfalls where there was so much snow the LJ needed a running start to plow through the drifts, the tracks would have helped!
Was wondering if they have a 5-on-4.5 bolt circle to fit the LJ-8 :).
They may be, the best way to find out is to go to their site (http://www.morryde.com/product-category/9-jeep-accessories), click on the "Contact Us" link, and ask them. The emails go right to the person who's the main contact for the Jeep stuff, and he's very responsive.
Thank you very much.
At this point I don't know if the JK Safari Cab will get to production. There has been some interest in it, also some interest in the barn door as a standalone product - the barn door is compatible with the factory JK hardtop so you could convert to a barn door without...
They worked out great, and they're in production and available now. I don't need extra fuel on this trip, so I'm not carrying the cans - since they mount in receivers that are bolted to the frame, I can easily install/remove the can holders in a minute whenever I need them.
I used them all the...
I'm working on a JK version of the Safari Cab now. Got most of the molds done, just a few to finish up.
Here are a few concept drawings of the JK2dr and JKU versions:
And some of the first JKU parts out of the molds - side panels with flip-out windows, the rear panel and the barn door...
Today Terry (trust) and I were on the same trail here at EJS. Terry was the tail gunner, and I was near the front of the line so we didn't get any photos of our Jeeps together on the trail, but here's his outstanding CJ-8 next to my LJ-8 at the end of the trail. BTW if you've never taken a...
No, I haven't thought about doing anything full size. I've still got far too many ideas for CJs, TJs and JKs :).
I'm not sure what a "pog nose" is (typo?) - these are the FSJ grilles I'm aware of, do you mean "pig nose"?
