    Gladiator - Take 3

My ‘23 4xe had bad wobble at 12k miles. Dealer replaced the steering stabilizer. It masked the problem for a couple thousand miles then it started again. I got under it while my better half turned the wheel back and forth. I could feel a popping in a steering rod end. Took it to the dealer and...

Shop addition 30' x 40' - Adams Family Scrambler World HQ

Can you do cross hip or intersecting hip roof systems with that truss system, or is it limited to rectangular floor plates? Also, you need to add a price to all sales listings. I have heard the moderator is very strict on this policy as well as requiring for sale listings to be in the...

Cool York A/C delete idler setup. That belt routing makes it super easy to add on board air or a/c.

    What's on your Work Bench?

I think those dimensions are intentional, it prevents the boards from being classified as dimensional lumber. It puts them in the timber classification.

    What's on your Work Bench?

You can still get CCA treated materials. Usually it is for larger materials like 4x6 or larger. Some of the specialty lumber yards have it in smaller sizes, but it can’t be used for residential construction nor most commercial construction. On of the few uses where it is still allowed is piles...

Any ford brass float from 60’s to 90’s. My 1994 F150 had the same float. Heck, I think my 2002 F250 Had the same float.

    Alaskan postal heater box question

The heater box above is an aftermarket engine coolant fed unit. It was used in the Morgan cars. https://www.gomog.com/BLAIR/tech/melectrical/heater/Heater.html I’ll bet it was used in all kinds of older vehicles to add supplemental heat.

    Alaskan postal heater box question

Here is Eric’s documentation from MATI. https://www.cj-8.com/threads/alaskan-postal-scrambler-cj-8-production-number-history-info-pics-from-usps-documents.3075/#post-15258 This indicates some had a Wabasto HL32 gas fired heater.

    Alaskan postal heater box question

Some postals from the northern regions of Alaska had supplemental heaters. I think some were kerosene fueled and other were tied into the engine coolant. I believe all were retrofitted in Alaska by the local maintenance crews. But this is only hearsay from past research I have done. I don’t...

I try to find used original ones. Typically from e-bay or similar. The aftermarket ones have all been trash and also have the wrong port sizes requiring Rube Goldberg adapters.

1984 Jeep CJ-7 full electric conversion

I wish the 4xe had true SPM. I can drive 97% with just the throttle, but the last 3% to stop at a light or stop sign, just sucks. With regen set aggressively, you can control your speed very well with how you feather the throttle. Makes for a very relaxed method of driving.

    Jeep Invasion- Pigeon Forge

Not true, I was awarded a blue duck on my way to the National this year. They left the duck on my truck’s door handle since the Jeep was on a trailer, and they probably could not figure out how to get one to stay on a cj door handle. To me the duck phenomenon is not that big a deal. It does not...

Again, I was very fortunate that my unit had no damage. During the week preceding the storm, all of the models predicted landfall about 100 miles south of me. I had a gut feeling they were all wrong, and unfortunately it was true. The eye passed about 5-10 miles Northeast of me and directly...
