    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

George, I can't even imagine the pain you and your family are dealing with. Along with every other forum member, I hope you find peace and the willpower to recover from your tragedy. Reach out if you need to talk. I'm retired and would welcome the conversation. Best of wishes to you, my friend.

Any of you guys in LA?

Petersen Museum before any on the others. Must see.

    Steps

Let me see what I have in the archives. Just as an FYI, the single lift motor on my application puts a lot of stress on the mechanism. I believe that AMP now makes a version that uses 4 lift motors (2 per step) that might be a better option. I do like mine from the standpoint that they look...

    Bestop Upper Fabric Doors

On mine, the profile is not perfect, so I go from having a door that shuts well and rattles to one that I have to slam but seals well and doesn't rattle. A fine line, to say the least.

    Bestop Upper Fabric Doors

I have the same set of uppers for my half doors. I like the look but don't care much for the rattling of the uppers. The doors fit tight but the uppers move quite a bit. Gr8dain, you notice that noise with yours? I'm not sure how they could be shimmed to fit better.

    Bestop Upper Fabric Doors

You might want to look for a set of hard doors instead. I leave mine on until temps start to warm up then put on the half doors for summer and fall. Hell, with our weather lately, I still have the half doors on. However, this weekend will most likely force me to install the full doors. The...

Another Scrambler Purchase/Road Trip - UPDATE- BODY ON FRAME AGAIN

I'm with you on every point. I was in the motorcycle business for a long time and we would get batteries in by the pallet load. One pallet with the batteries, and one with the electrolyte. Best part about those batteries........if a high mileage piece started to show signs of not taking a...

Another Scrambler Purchase/Road Trip - UPDATE- BODY ON FRAME AGAIN

I had the same battery in my Scrambler. Made it about 2 weeks shy of 3 years and, luckily, was warrantied. Not so lucky with my 98 Grand Cherokee. That one is failing and, with a 7/21 date tag, will be costly to replace. Those AGM batteries have almost doubled in price since '21. At least I...

    Coffee Walk

Knowing Dennis, bidding will probably start at $100K and go from there.

    Current Scrambler pics

But you have to admit that the Sierra was an attention getter with the mains folding the wrong way. By the way, are you flying here in OKC or is this just your home?

    Current Scrambler pics

I spent a lot of time in a Sierra, the retract version of the Musketeer. I agree, solid airplane. I did a lot of relief work doing fires back in the 80's and 90's. That airplane was a nice switch from the helicopters.

    Headlight switch

I'm on my third switch, so far. I took one of the aftermarket switches apart to find contacts that had different tensions on the central shaft. But worse than that was the potentiometer scroll on all three, which was of such poor construction that the contact, depending on the position of the...

    Headlight switch

Help! I continue to have issues with the quality of the stock headlight switch. OEM switches are almost impossible to find and all of the aftermarket copies are of poor quality. Has anybody found another type of headlight switch that has worked for them. I've given thought to changing the...

    Steps

Because the CJ's never came with courtesy lights, I ended up installing a pair of generic door switches which, after fiddling with location, work on both the full and half doors. A bonus is that I was able to install a row of strip led's on each side which are activated by the steps, which are...

Planning a trip to San Fransisco and Bay Area - Places and things to do

I'll second Sausalito as a destination. I could never get landing rights in San Francisco so we would land at the San Francisco Seaplane Tours base and make the short hike over the canal for lunch at the Dipsea Cafe. Somebody told me that Covid had a detrimental effect on the restaurant but it...

    Steps

I bought a set of used AMP Research steps from an F-150 Crewcab, shortened the steps, fabricated mounting brackets, and couldn't be happier. For us old guys, it makes getting in and out a whole bunch easier. When they're closed, they almost look like sliders.

Planning a trip to San Fransisco and Bay Area - Places and things to do

I lived in Santa Rosa for years and spent a lot of time in and around San Francisco. Make sure you visit the SF Zoo and Aquarium. And if you are looking to kill a bit more time, take a drive down Highway 1 and see the coast with Monterey and Carmel being your destinations. Fisherman's Wharf...

Headlights and parking lights don't work

Check the switch. My Scrambler came from the gulf and had serious corrosion issues. Once I determined the switch was the problem, I ordered a new one through one of the vendors. The new switch was worse than the original so an eBay listing got me a low mile oem switch and the old girl has...

Aqualu or Willys-overland, Driving me nuts

I went through this a couple of years ago, with the same questions you are asking. I bought the MD Juan tub. In hindsight, I should have just bought the repair panels but, after spending upwards of $2K on all of the necessary parts, that appeared to be less than ideal. Especially after you...
