Thanks for the great pic...that is pretty much the setup that mine has, though the valves on mine are on the opposite side of the jeep and more in the rear (near the tail light). On mine the vapor vent hoses and the line from the evap. canister snake behind the tank to the passenger side, where...
Hi all. I took tons of pictures when I stripped my Jeep for restoration but missed a small section behind the fuel tank. I have three lines going to the rollover valve assembly in the passenger side rear of the tub. My pictures show the three of them coming together at the rear of the fuel...
Thanks, after further inspection, the rear holes in my tub are not in the correct place from left-to-right on the tub anyway (i.e., as referenced from the rear vertical seam of the body). They must have been for something else. Thanks for the insight.
Hey, all. Were holes added to the rear of the body where the wooden side rails attach for a reason other than the wooden rails? Some years ago my wife got a set of wooden side rails for my 'Bessie' restoration as a Christmas gift (I think from a link here back then). Only now am I at a point in...
Ok, sound good. What shape are they in, do you have 2 or 4 of them, how much you want for them, and how do we work out shipping and payment? Thanks! The two I have are in decent shape but I will either need to zinc plate them or powder coat them silver to get the OEM look back.
Hey, all. I haven't posted in quite a long time, my restoration had to be sidelined for a while. I am putting her back together now, though. I am working on the full hard doors at the moment and I'm having trouble finding new fasteners for a part of it. Mine has the interior door pull handle...
I thought about that too, but my oil dipstick handle is light blue...seems original but I am not 100% sure. It is a tough coating, though, almost like powder coat. Anyone know for sure what was OEM on an '83?
Thanks
Mark
Ok, thanks CBRogers. That fits what I am seeing. The tube is not painted at all and the end of the stick is definitely not a factory color. I might powder coat them gray or aluminum color to look somewhat stock after I remove the spray paint on the end of the stick...not sure if the factory...
Hey, silly question but I am painting and powder coating most of the engine pieces now and am bead blasting the automatic dip tube and dip stick end for refinishing. Can someone tell me what color the tube and the end of the dipstick where originally? My tube is not colored at all and the end...
Hey, I had the same trouble. I have found tables for body color, interior color, etc but not for the top. However, when I went to get paint for the body the supplier had the color code for the top in his charts (PPG paint in my case). I'd suggest calling a good paint supplier. Most good ones...
Awesome thread! Sorry I missed it earlier. For me I enjoy going to Asheville NC from time to time...they have a great support and growing of breweries. I just got back today from a few days of birthday celebrating there. They've got several microbreweries there now (8?). I'm a member of...
I am really looking for some insight on the rear of the bed and the work involved there during a bed panel replacement. My tub is currently on her back so I can see most of the spot welds and see what all is involved. However, at the rear of the bed there appears to be at least two sheet metal...
Hey, all. I posted a thread in the "Body" section about replacing the bed the other day. I'll try it here...if anyone has a good write up and pics on replacing the main bed panel and the 4 corner floor panels I'd appreciate a link to the process. I have searched through many of the restoration...
