It would be so cool to do a themed (forest service) Scrambler build!!! Has anyone done one before, like a USPS build maybe? I can't find one.

There was one for sale a few years ago done up like that (might have been park ranger). Recently saw the purchase posted it on facebook. It had some of the decal removed as local authorities gave him crap about them. It looked very nice.It would be so cool to do a themed (forest service) Scrambler build!!! I don't know anything about the transmission but I do like the 401 choiceOK, so it's been a while. I've had 3 jeep projects going at the same time and the scrambler was not one. I'm trying to get a few done to sell and pay off my mortgage and gets funds for a couple of other projects including the scrambler.
But guess what I have collected for parts last year. Yeh I'm going to blow this all up now, because I just couldn't help myself. I picked up a newly built 401 and a low miles NV3550 and another dana 300. I bought a 100% rust free cj7 out of Colorado with 401, rebuilt 727 and 300 with low max kit. So I'm going to use the 401 in the 8 with the nv3550. Then I picked up a 360 out of a 88 wagoner that had been Rebuilt 10k ago.
So watcha think about a fuel injected 401? And my tranny choice.
I'm 7 years into retirement and I have less free time than when I was working 16 hour days. Not sure how that worked out, but I'm fishing and hunting more now than when I was in high school. Oh and there is this darn jeep addiction. Hence selling off some of the herd. I will never get to them all so I've decided to get down to maybe three. I can definitely vouch for the cj6 idea. I'm down to two of those now that I sold the 74 last month. But they are awesome rigs. The plan is the Scrambler and my 46 2a. Then I fighting keeping the cj6a and one other.I don't know anything about the transmission but I do like the 401 choicemy next project will have one. Next project you say
Well I'm less than 5 years from retirement and need a ratrod to work on. I'm thinking an old Jeepster or cj6...

Me too!
That is the one! This one maybe?
Very cool, but not really stock appearing as it would be as a government vehicle. And who really knows what that would look like. I'm just thinking besides paint & decals, base wheels, mild or no lift, maybe old school winch. If you really wanted to you could mount a chainsaw, shovel, rope, axe, etc. in the bed. Anyway, just think it would be ultra cool and probably never done before.![]()
Well, if you ever need to sell a 6 let me knowI can definitely vouch for the cj6 idea. I'm down to two of those now that I sold the 74 last month. But they are awesome rigs. The plan is the Scrambler and my 46 2a. Then I fighting keeping the cj6a and one other.

The idea is to keep it at my brother's house in Colorado until I buy a cabin out there. That way we can do all the fun stuff out west And in the east![]()
Spent a lot getting new foam and reapolstered. But I love the 60/40.And the cool seat.
Smiles Per GallonWith a built 360 and EFI I also don't get great MPGs but agreed - the power makes it all better and who else would I talk to about it if I wasn't stopping for gas all the time?!?!?!
Easy and cheap to have made.I just need to find magnetic door decals.

Send them a photo and they'll make you one from it, just need a good quality Pic and dimensions. Naturally they won't do patented or copyrighted or whatever kind of work as most of them even State on their sites. but I see a lot of National Park signs that are written in the same font with family names or Welcome to our camper Etc designed to look very similar to a National Park entrance sign from a distance for example. so something similar could easily be made
