IIRC I spaced it dead center between the outer face of the radiator and the inside of the grill. I made brackets to hold the auxiliary cooler in place because I didn't want to drill holes through the grill bars to secure it OR use those stupid ties that go through the radiator core. IIRC the instructions had a specified distance between the cooler and radiator, maybe 1".
Guess life got too busy and I forget to update, but got the new radiator installed. I opened up the fan shroud to better fit the fans and hit it with a coat of paint. Temps seem to be more stable and the fans cycle less frequently.
Trans cooler mounted out front, lines run from the trans into the radiator, out the radiator into the cooler and then back to the trans. Helped warm up the trans quicker but still keeps it cool.
That was back in August, and I haven’t taken it out very much since fall. Hopefully come springtime she gets used a little more.

In my continued efforts of increasing interior comfort in a rough and tumble utility vehicle, I bought these Quadratec CJ/YJ mats when I did the Bedrug carpet kit. I think several companies sell these same mats under their own brands, but Quadratec had the cheapest and fastest shipping at the time.
Initially I just threw them in after doing the carpet, but finally got the included retention hooks installed. Pretty cool little cut template they included to make lining up fool proof.
Driver side all done. Bedrug doesn’t lay as flat and smooth as standard carpet, so the mats don’t fit as great as with regular carpet or bare floors. Overall I’m satisfied with the results.

Well not much drive time lately but still managed to spring a leak on the junky lower radiator hose last week when I moved it to clean out the shop.
New radiator’s drain allowed me to save all the fresh coolant in a clean bucket. See old junk universal hose.
Made the upper radiator hose from the Chevy LS truck/suv my engine came from fit with minor trimming as my new lower.

Took a quick spin to top off the fuel and warm up the engine prior to the oil change. Decided to switch to Techron high mileage due to it being a cleaner and stabilizer.
Just my luck it started pouring rain and the battery crapped out on me. Think that’s getting replaced soon. Luckily my wife bailed me out and brought a jump pack. Fired up and hurried home.
6.5 quarts of Mobil 1 5w-30 and AC Delco larger filter. According to my odometer and records, 121 miles in 14 months.
Tire rotation and general inspection when I have more time.

Messing around on the Scangauge and found a parameter for oil life. Quick google on how to reset it and we’ll see how it tracks.
Next on deck, 140 Amp alternator from Rock Auto. Factory is 105, so I figured with the electric fans it should probably help out some.

Is it really a build if I just bolt on replacement parts? New alternator installed without much fuss. Initial testing shows it’s charging, and less voltage drop with the cooling fans on.

Thanks for posting your BedRug install. I just ordered the same kit for my Scrambler. Also ordered some DEI Heat Shield under it after testing a small piece.
Hoping to make the AC more effective after the heat soak happens on those 100+ degree days.
I'm posting more details of the test and the products on my build page next.
I’ll check it out! I’ve been looking at additional measures to cut down the heat radiating from the drivetrain.
