Well, I'm just about finished with my 82 CJ8. Fortunately it is a rust free California Jeep that had a straight body. Borrowed some half doors of a YJ, and installed Howell TBI and a 5 speed from a 86 CJ7. Also front/rear limited slip along with a new Warn M8000 winch. New TSL Swamper Radials. Problem is, I don't want to get it dirty :eek:

Good eye there. The stripes were cut for a CJ7. I got them as a kit on ebay. I installed them and then was afraid to add the extra material they supplied to make it fit a CJ8. I figured I just wouldn't get it right. I can still do it. I will have to remove my black rocker gaurd and complete the install before the rear tire. Behind the rear tire should be much easier.

I figured I would just leave it short, hoping people would think it was a well thought out decision. You Jeep guru's will catch things like that every time. Do you think I should install it? But as I said....99% complete.

The Jeep looks great, Tom. I'm just used to seeing factory stripe setups. You have a really nice ride there! :cool:

Yep, you are right.. I guess I should get them on there. It would complete the run of the graphics. I have no wax on the Jeep and I should do this before I wax it.

Whats this word you use..."complete"? Never heard it used in the same sentence as "Jeep".

Nice looking vehicle you got there. What kind of top(s) do you have for it? Just curious if you CA people even know what tops are, as here in the single digits of Northern Michigan, a top is a necessity!

Body work getting done. Actually just needed a top coat of glaze.

Primered and ready to paint. It sat this way for over 6 weeks. All body work was complete in one weekend, in my backyard. Total cost complete to primer was $650.00.

I fish off the CA coast. My first boat was a Zodiac inflatable. My butt was always on the "waterline" and that is where my boat name came from. I still fish here in northern CA and the name of my Boston Whaler is Waterline.

good lookin rig.looks like you did a great job.like the stripes too.can relate with the whole wheeling and getting it dirtything after all those countless hrs of redoing it,but hey if you don't wheel it and tear it up some you won't have anything to fix,so you may as well ding it up..right?lol:p maybe yours now will give me the motivation to get the ball rolling on mine.sweet ride
 
Just wondering how much lift, and wow that looks how I want mine to look.
I like the Close to Stock but still Read to Rock look...
