Anyone north of Los Angeles ? Need an assist on a jeep

This is an awsome 5! I would have tugged it home behind my 8 (now that would have been a sight), but I had the 3 young ones with me. They still had fun in the Expo. Plus they got to see an almost pristine CJ-5. They got a kick out of the "ghost Jeep" following so close behind us with no driver.

Wow, another super clean '5!

What's the back story on this gem?

One owner, original paint/interior?

Congrats on another great find!

That's really cool, I've got a '79Cj5 Renagade that I love. Mine's really rough but I just love to beat around in it.
As mentioned above awesome color combo.

Thanks ya'al, I really dont like 5s, well driving them because the seat doenst go back far enough, and they are harder to get into, but now I have 2. I only have had 1 other 5 out of almost 100 jeeps, so that kinda says how I have avoided them

This one is a 2 owner, who bought it from his next door neighbor. Both guys kept it in a garage when not using it, and about 97k miles on it, of which half are supposed to be towed miles behind a motorhome. It has a ding here or there, and I need to take all the stainless steel and extra racks bolted to it off, but its a color combo I have been looking for, for a long time, 5 or 7. This color is called saxon yellow, and only used in 1979and 1980.

Update on this one, and again a HUGE THANK you to 05unlimted/Jeff for the assist and storage at his home garage. I decided to ship it after time ran out on me and the expense of new tires for it and a road trip just wasnt that practical anymore...Still, I tried, and put it up on the boards for a cheap price ($900 to my door) to try to make me do the roadtrip... but then last week a guy needed to fill his load back east, it was loaded as the last one on Thursday morning, underneath a brand new JK rubicon and surrounded by some old cadillacs, and last night around 5 pm it showed up.

Here are a few pics, and thanks again Jeff..I hope you get many miles out of the parts and I still owe you anything you may need down the road. :bacon:

And on NJ soil for the first time 35 years later. A cool 50 degrees and rainy, a far cry from high desert CA

Awesome - glad it arrived safely, although I was looking forward to reading another cross country road trip.

Please keep us updated on this one, as I'm looking forward to seeing some more pics of this clean '5 and your tasteful changes.

Hat is tipped to Jeff for going above and beyond.

Very nice. I'm with you on 5's, though- I plain don't fit!

Before I forget- that Tracker P/C tire had a lot of small cracks on the back unexposed sidewall. Good for a display only, I'll end up trashing it or cutting out the tread for jack cushions.

I used to go wheeling all the time in Littlerock up at the reservoir, although it was in a built 67 Bronco, and back in the 80's...used to live in Castaic.

I notched the rear wheel tub so I could get my seat to go back far enough. I'm 6'4" 260, fits me like a fine european sports car. Lol
I know you probably wouldnt do that to one of any value.

I have de-valued them before by cutting the steering column down as well to get the steering wheel nearer the dash to get more room....

I have been working on it slowly on rainy and now cold days here and there. I got the rear rack cut off and working on cleaning up the interior and etc. I'm also working on getting some original tracker tires mounted and correct white wheels 15 x 8 with a black stripe. Found the replacement for the ripped front seat too locally in NJ of all places. Trying to have it finished by late spring :thumbsup :

Couple days ago pics.. Getting this jeep gave me the motivation to do some original refreshing on the matching truck. Original tires mounted and interior work is next.
