BigWalton, is it almost Thursday yet? - AKA did that pesky tornado delay you?

I think thread should be called...waiting for godot. Looks like you are going to have plenty of fire wood...will it fit in the pellet stove?

That is probably the most rust free pile of parts I've seen in a while, looks like a great deal...waiting for more pics...

It looks like I'll be able to go with them Thursday night to get it all, not sure how much time we'll have to inventory it before we head home, but you know I'll take more pics.

It's someone who was building a brand new Scrambler from parts and just hit a wall... he's paying for the axles and tires and getting the rest free, or is he paying for the body and getting the rest free, or is he paying for all the engine accessories, wiring harness and suspension and getting the rest free...

I'm just mad he beat me to it! :banghead:

Start of the pics.

The lighting in his pole barn was pretty bad, so the pics are rough.

I think that's a Laredo seat and leather wrapped wheel. The steering column is tilt too. Didn't find the grab bar though.

Body is almost new with just some minor issues accumulated over the years of storage. There's damn near a complete jeep worth of parts with just the interior and dash/gauges, heater box and controls, brake lines, fuel lines, driveshafts, rollbar, top, booster/MC and steering box/mount missing.

So much of it is brand new it's just sick.

Yeah, lots of stuff stored up there, he could put one of his tree stands in the bed!

He'll have a damn near new Scrambler by the time it's all done. First up is a decision on the drivetrain. Then it's a likely slow build until this thing is ready to start swapping the little things over from his current Scrambler. With what he'll buy new to add into the mix (booster/MC, steering box mount, possible drivetrain) he'll have a sick rig.

Unless he is going to keep it factory(ish) I would sugest upgrading the power steering gear box to the '78/79 Ford (?), its waht I have, it is head and shoulders above the stock jeep gearbox.

That has to be in the top 5 of finds people have posted...number one is still the Expidition Scrambler from down south though (imo that is).

Nice stuff.

Definitely not factory-ish or even close. TDK frame, Waggy axles outboarded in front, 33s, custom rear cage, and he's thinking hard about a V8.

We'll see what he wants to do with the steering, he's got to get to the Waggy TRE on the pitman anyway if he wants to use what he's got. He'll need one of the relocation mounts because of the Waggy D44.

Nothing on this deal really makes any sense. The guy handed over receipts for a lot of the stuff (but not NEARLY all of it) and just adding those up he's got almost 4x the asking price. I don't know what on earth he was thinking in setting the price.

Then, this was a craigslist ad that from Feb 2!!!!!!! How on earth did Polarfire and the rest of the CL searchers here miss it (it was not mislabeled/misspelled) and even still, at the price he had it at, how the HECK did someone local not just jump all over it???

The new owner didn't find it until earlier this month, wrote to the guy, didn't hear back immediately, THEN mentioned it to me and my first response was "Oh, that sold the next day, it's long gone". Next day the seller writes back saying he's got it and willing to deal to get rid of it all!!!

SO mad I was out of my CL searching mode and missed out  :banghead: but at least I get to stay involved with it and help build a killer rig for my neighbor.

Let me know if you need some help or parts...I am getting rid of alot of parts he could use that I no longer need (I sold my Jeepster Trailrig project).

What state did it come from again...I missed that bit of info. Just as I also missed this on CL like it seems everyone else did...seems your nieghbor was fated to buy this

Let me know you have my number

Ok, it will likely be a while, but thanks.

It was from right here in MI, near Flint.

If he already has a tub, he probably won't be needing that one......it'd be a shame to see it go to waste....I'll take it if no one else wants it....
