I have a couple of general questions. I was going to start this project a couple of years ago, but never had time. I'm getting into it now, and had a couple of questions regarding approach. First off, I'm not building to sell it, I've just always wanted a CJ, and this Scrambler ended up being it. That being said, I restored several old cars with my Dad, to like new/original condition. I really wanted to restore this with as much original parts as possible, including the sheet metal. I plan on cutting the frame channels apart, repairing/cleaning, then welding everything back together. Im building a jig to put the scrambler frame in I'm using, and will work on it in sections, to avoid too many geometry issues. I have two CJ-8 tubs, and 1 CJ-7 tub, with almost every bit of sheet metal I need. I have the original doors, fenders, hood, and windshield, all with minor rust, less than a couple sq. inches. So, a ton of welding. I plan on finishing all original, with the exception of a few 80's bolt ons...KC Lights, mild lift, and a stereo. Though I have the doors, it will likely never have the door or top on it. Any advice is welcome, though telling me I'm nuts probally won't deter me.
