It's official... Went to start the process of the emissions test yesterday and a '75 engine in an '84 vehicle is an "illegal swap"... So I have to swap an '84 or newer engine in or sell... &@#%!!!!!!!!
It's only a temporary set back that could be a blessing in disguise. You've bought and sold Jeeps in the past and there will always be others to buy in the future. But your child is only born once and family is way more important than any Jeep.
Just finished reading this thread, and life is truly on display here. Good and bad, happy and sad. But it looks like things are working out for the best. I hope they continue so. Congrats on the new home and baby. Sorry to hear about the Jeep.
Although my jeep is, for the most part, stock it's a bit disconcerting to hear how strict Co is about emissions control. In Texas I just have to pass a safety inspection. My wife and I are planning to retire in Co. in a couple of years. Maybe in Pagosa Springs or maybe some where else. We've been going to PS since '84, love it.
As someone who has moved more times than I have fingers, I can tell you it is a pain, but with each turn of the page a new story unfolds and possibilities are endless. Good Luck.
Check your messagesI am retired and I have been thinking about getting a place around Pagosa Springs. If you have any information about Pagosa or anything within 75 miles of there I would appreciate you sharing it wih me in a PM. I want to live as far away from people as I can. I'll live in a barn with my 7 cars and two tractors.
You've never met my family...family is way more important than any Jeep.
Anyway I am also very familiar with wagoneers. Feel free to PM and or reach out for a call id be happy to help I'd be very willing to help. I bought a jeep outta Colorado years ago with a post production year GM V8 in it and know what the guy went through. I also wonder if you can make your transplant look "newer". Here in NJ you can pay for inspection and they won't open the hood. But let the sopranos jokes beginAnyway I am also very familiar with wagoneers. Feel free to PM and or reach out for a call id be happy to help

There'll be someone in Summit county or similar that would pay you a fair price for it. Heck, trading it in is a darn shame.
If you want to sell locally it's going to need an engine swap anyway. Talk to David Nappier down at the Meineke place on Mason I think I mentioned. He can surely handle an engine swap there, and he's a CJ guy. I sure hope he doesn't have that 7 he's restoring still in the garage, but he might. LS1 I think he has in it.
