Colorado Bound Scrambler

Just pack up and move to the western slope of Colorado, no emissions testing required! We can always use another Scrambler owner over here!

So sorry to see this, although that is one sweet XJ. Doing the right thing for your family is the best thing you can do. Good luck with the sale. I'm sure there will be another Scrambler around when it's time for you to get another.

Dang - sorry to hear that you've got to sell her.

I could sure use those wheels and tires as my current 33's are dry rotted - I only drive it locally in case I blow a tire.

Good looking XJ! I've had about a dozen xj's including two with V8's ( one 350 & one LS2) . Looks to be properly outfitted as well! Enjoy.

Ps-I sent you a message about the scrambler -

Well folks,
Unfortunately this thread is coming to an end (until some joker resurrects it in about 3 years with some funny "thread resurrection gif!). It's been an adventure jumping into the world of Scramblers and I feel like even though I've never met any of you all in person I feel like I've made some true friends along the way. That's why I'm definitely going to stay active on this forum even though I have sold my current Scrambler. The members of this site are genuinely kind and never bash each other or criticize the others opinions or choices about any of the topics discussed on here. When I first had to decide whether or not to sell the Scrambler back in Illinois before the move every one said "Keep it! But do what's best for you and your family..." When I decided to keep it, I had the support. When I got to Colorado and was again faced with the same question again everyone on here said "KEEP IT!!! But do what's best for you and your family..." When made the decision to sell it and not put my family into debt trying to remedy the emissions/engine swap dilemma everybody said "Sorry it has come to this, but you are doing what's best for your family". Thank you all for your advice and support along the way and I'm sure when the time is right you all will still be here to help me find the next Scrambler!
Here's a few pictures I took a few days ago as a final photo shoot before this Scrambler starts its next chapter.

I hope in a few years I can show these to Wyatt and he will say "Dad, that's a cool Jeep... But I like your new Scrambler better!!"

At least you have some great pictures with jr. And the Scrambler to hang on the wall [emoji106]🏼

Great pictures and love outlook on the new and better Scrambler. Or better yet a father son build.

Can someone tell what shackle reverse means when you add a lift.

Short answer:
Shackle reversal is when the front spring hangers are reversed.
The fixed mount is relocated to the front (bumper location) and the shackle hangers are relocated to modified mounts at the old fixed mount location.
Kits are available. I believe M.O.R.E still sells them.

Why would you do this or need to do this? Fixn to put a 4 in lift on my CJ 8. Do I need to do this?

It does not need to be done for a lift install.
If you're installing a "kit" it should have complete instructions on the recommended install procedure.
There are opinions both ways on the pros/cons of a shackle reversal.

I actually believe that with a lift over 2" it is advised against doing one.
