Decal kit - wrong one and does it matter?

I picked up a CJ8 last year without decals. I wasn't quiet sure if it was a Laredo or Renegade (the plate under the hood is all but destroyed and I figured someone added the Chrome grill) but I liked the look of the Renegade kit better so I went with it. But now i'm pretty sure it's a Laredo and I inadvertently put the Renegade kit on. Question i have for all ya'll is does it really matter?

Do you like it? If you do, good. I have no idea if or what my '83 may have had, so I ordered what I liked and had them put on when it was repainted.

It only matters to you and whether or not you like it. I had 84 Laredo decals on mine when I got it. Never liked them as much as other years. I took them off.

Just seeing this. Rock whatever look you like. That's a beautiful combination on that rig!

Once it's no longer original, do whatever you like sir. People confuse CJs with collector cars all the time, very different animals outside of actual, completly original survivors (and even then, really not in the same ballpark.)

Just throwing in another affirmation for you. Looks awesome! :headbang:

By the way, the Xenon extended flares you got with that are utter perfection. They're no longer made and are utterly brilliant in that they look dead stock to people who don't know the difference. The extra tire coverage is exactly right on yours and I guarantee most people will never realize that they're not stock. Mine aren't mounted in the normal spot in back (I moved them up onto my armor and cut off the remains of the rusty wheel well lip), so things look "off" anyway and people STILL don't realize that they're not stock CJ flares.

Thanks! I've heard the same from a few other folks that noticed they were Xenon. I didn't realize they stopped making them though.

Nice - looking CJ-8!

Thought there was something odd with the flares, never heard of Xenon before.
