My daughter did the San Andreas Fault tour with Desert Adventures today in Palm Springs. They advertise that they have the largest fleet of scramblers with 16 of them. I had her send me a few pictures of the scrambler they rode in. Here they are:

Very cool! Fantastic Caverns here in Missouri by Branson used to do drive through cave tours in forest service green scramblers. They sold off the Scramblers some years ago and switched to YJ's. I'm not sure what they are running now but I loved seeing those Scramblers as a kid!

Nice, with one piece axles in the rear no less!

Dadgummit, Eric! You beat me to it!
I noticed the same thing.
Might be a little bit of a liability to have a rear wheel come off....

Tailgate..

Wonder why they would use a swing out versus a drop down tailgate..?

You can see the step stool on the ground, so that is where the passengers would exit. Looks like they use the tow hitch as a step too. They also advertise that each scrambler will hold up to 9 people, so I imagine one piece axles would be a good option.

The sad part is my daughter asked "is this a scrambler?" and his response was no.

We stopped at Fantastic Caverns on the way back from the '08 National in Clayton. They now use YJs on 'pane.
