EBay eye poppers

No need to apologize... I wasn't offended by your post at all! I really had no idea how to price these kits so I experimented a bit just to see what the market would bear. I've been pleasantly surprised... :)

Sorry, I was just searching ebay "Nos jeep parts" with the search at "highest price first" and it popped up.

I'd be interested in one of those cruise control kits in the $400 range!!!

I have some good Jeep Karma coming my way!!!

I sold 2 sets of NOS sideboards for 1/2 of what they are selling on Ebay!!!

:)

For $54,000 I would expect a very low milage, all original, non-restored CJ with everything in pristine condition. And even then I would baulk at the price. I see a lot of things to nit-pick (non-original style tires, cassette doesn't work, crack in dash pad...) and at the price it deserves to be nit-picked. It doesn't matter if you took every single bolt off and built it back up, it's still a $20k Jeep at best.

Ahh. I won't even get started commenting on a price like that other than to say I couldn't agree more. An all original one with 10k orig miles would struggle to fetch half that. And I know who has one !!

And just one of many issues --> what's what that exhaust pipe ??? Is it even attached to the frame?!?!

Black paint underbody
Non factory carb/air cleaner
non stock seats
console/seats do not match
wrong "Limited Badges"
painted on stripes
177k mile powertrain (except used transmission/rebuilt engine)
AC does not work

Nice looking "rebuilt/restored/non-original" Jeep, but not "$54,000.00 nice":twocents:

I'm sure the experts can add to my short list:rotfl:

Eric, can you at least help out the guy with the correct Limited badges?

Ha ha. I don't have any, only pair I ever had were on the 83 silver limited I restored 3-4 years ago, and I sold that jeep happily for 14K.. I didn't add the pin stripe or the black windshield frame as I didn't get that far was doing it more to taste to keep then had to sell to fund a couple original purchases, but it had 63 k orig miles, all original interior in all slate blue, great history and was all oem parts.

Think this song sums it up!

OK... I think Bobby's bumper now qualifies as an eye popper... Congrats, Bobby!!!

"JEEP SCRAMBLER ORIGINAL REAR STEP BUMPER OEM AMC CJ8 FACTORY

Up for sale is a very hard to find "rare" Scrambler CJ8 chrome rear bumper with end caps, and mounting brackets! This is a Factory Jeep "SE" (Special Equipment) part. Chrome is nice and bright. The impossible to find end caps show some wear, one has a broken piece on bottom, but is not detectable once the bumper is mounted, overall they look great to be 30 years old! Please look at the detailed pictures to see the bumpers condition before bidding as there are no returns with such a large heavy item. Due to the size and weight, I will not ship internationally."

Dang!!! I sold mine for like $150 or something like a year ago!

Well I would buy it only because it has that sweet Wrangler steering wheel that makes your fingers hit the blinker and tilt lever every time you turn

I also have the correct limited badges for him and will sell them for $4000 to complement the rest of the jeep and his bin price. :headbang:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

AHAHAHAHAHA

HAHHAHAHAHA

hahahaha

ahaha

ah....ha....

*******....they're not that rare....even I owned one couple years ago....

and there are soooooo many incorrect parts on it.....LMAO

This is what the front of a limited is SUPPOSED to look like. What's with the chrome overlay. Worse, the orange turn signals ?!!!?!?

This is the same all the time.
Some guy has his Jeep rebuilt by someone else and now is trying to recoup the costs because his wife found out he spent over $50K for it and she is pissed.

I think an all original 100 mile version from Collins Brothers would sell for this price and if given enough time, a person would buy it.

A restored Jeep that looks like a Limited... well... I saw Eric's (JerseyJeeps) Silver one and that one was pretty mint and nicely fixed up (not restored per say) and that sold for 2/3 less price.

Oh well, the "dreamers" can always dream... :)
