The CJ7 donor top pieces is a brilliant idea to run the standard doors!!! Incredible work…and I really like the white rims against the top with the red stripe to top it off. 10 outta 10!

Thanks. We chose the red stripe on the wheels because we have seen them on early CJ7's 15x8 (I don't know what year) and to coordinate it with the Western snow plow.

Looks awesome! Just curious, why not use the postal doors? I thought I remember you having a couple of sets?

Yes, he had two sets of postal doors. The original doors were in way better condition and painted to match.

Yes those are the factory wheels for 77-79 CJs

We finally found a radiator that fits with the HD cooling option (7 blade fan, fan clutch, and shroud). We first tried a Griffin exact fit Aluminum Radiator from Quadratec made for a Jeep CJ7/CJ8, which was too big. The bottom outlet even interfered with the steering knuckle. An aluminum and plastic radiator from NAPA only worked with the smaller 4-blade fan. This Summit Racing™ Classic OEM Radiators SUM-382007 (2 Row) fits perfect. I will report back on how well it cools. Summit has really done their homework regarding fit. sum-382007_us_xl.jpg

I bought I believe was a quality aluminum radiator from CG &J Inc. When Raymond (spankrjs) went to install it there was a problem with fitment and 7 blade fan. Looks like there are a few sizes for these Jeeps. Luckily Raymond had a Summit in stock that fit correctly. Was somewhat of a pain to return the aluminum one, I would recommend the Summit also.

I've been running/had great luck so far with the Summit radiators.

Not to spruik Summit too much here but I've always had really good experiences with summit over the years. They really still stand behind their products.

Just had a low-mile HD unit for the kid's XJ fail with a crack in the inlet-side tank. I'd heard good things on them prior to that. I was considering the cooling system set for years with that and a flow kooler pump with new hoses
