Headlight Issues

I rarely drive my '84 Scrambler at night, but I had to a couple of weeks ago. I was using low and high beams and all of a sudden the lights went out. I tried the dimmer switch but that did not fix it. The only thing that worked was turning the lights off and then back on with the switch.

I proceeded to replace both headlights and the dimmer switch. But then it happened again last night. Do y'all think I need to replace the headlight switch? Also wondering if it makes sense to set up a relay instead of running the full voltage through the headlight and dimmer switches.

Thanks

I would also check the plugs that are connected to the back of the headlamp switch and the dimmer switch are clean and plugged in properly or give them a wiggle next time it does it and try and isolate the issue that way!.

I would also check that switch. If turning them off then back on again with the switch, it could have issues. I know the brushes are worn in mine making the interior lights a flakey proposal.
