How do I get the heater box out? I removed the 4 nuts on the engine side of firewall, but it is still hanging up on something. Is there something else I missed?

Uh....heater hoses, the control cables, the defroster duct, wiring, and (probably the real issue) it is stuck to the firewall.

All removed. Does this come out in two pieces..plastic housing the blower motor and out put ducts and plastic housing input ducts?

Yes it is 2 pieces.
The top part is mounted to the cowl with 6 to 8 screws.

Once you get the cables and these screws removed you should be able to take the top part out then the bottom.

This is not one of the better pics i have but the only one on line at the moment.

You should be able to remove the bottom section with out removing the top section but it is awkward

If you go over to the CJ forum on Jeeps unlimited and search for posts by John Strenk, he has some good pics of how it looks.

got it! First it was the (4) cowl screws underneath vent grate that was holding me up, didn't know those were there. Also it was a little stuck. One good yank and off it came.

Thanks.
