Ok, cleaning up my empty engine bay today while talking about my complete lack of progress on the stroker swap with @yodabob I found that one of my motor mounts is cracked. While it's something I could clean up and weld, I'd just as soon go to something HD. There's the MORE and TDK frame side mounts and they both mention using a 4.2 block plate with a 4.0 engine, can anyone verify that this setup will bolt up to a 4.0 on the block side?

Any other good HD mount options out there that folks have used?

I dont have an opinion but I do have a set that have been floating around my shed. I think they are the "Bomb Proof" ones. You can have them if wanted. I'll take a picture today. Never used them and given my current situation, I have no need for them.

That would be awesome!!

I think these will work from what I'm seeing they simply bolt to the stock block-side mount that I have from the old 4.0.

The poly mounts with the centered studs are just poly replacements for the stock mounts and aren't part of this package, I'd only need the tall ones with the through-bolt. The "short" side of the MORE mounts replace those poly studded mounts, basically

Huge thanks to Tim/@timo for sending these my way! I offered to pay him but he said to put the money toward the forum, so that’s exactly what I’ve done. Wanted folks to understand his awesome generosity.

Now I have serious motivation to get the stroker between the frame rails now!

Can you do a "Raymond" post on the steps you go through to use these with the 4.0 block?

Now that’s a lot to ask for, maybe since Raymond already has a 4L he can install them and just do the writing.

Haha, I figured Raymond has enough going on right now, so it would be too much to ask him for.
Also, I was hoping it would motivate Eric to get back on his stroker project. We know how he loves pics.

(I actually will be doing this whenever I have time to get to my long delayed swap.)

What a fabulous forum! I'm forever surprised by the kindness and generosity of the members. You guys are the best.

On a footnote, because of Big Walton and Timo439, I just upgraded my membership to Gold. Been wanting to do it for a while, but this act of kindness pushed me to get it done. In fact, a while back I tried to upgrade to a Lifetime Membership. No luck. Oh, well, Gold is just about as good. Thanks, guys.

Thanks for the support!!

I'll do that. Everything is on the block side to get the 258 mounts connected to it, then it goes to this as if it were a 258.

I think I did a section on putting those on when I did the original 4.0 swap...

Here's where I did it. Some of the photos are gone but it's really simple and the two showing the mounts in place on the 4.0 block and notes the one hole that needs to be modified.

Once you have the mounts on the block, you simply swap these mounts on the frame, it's a bolt in deal. I'll get new gr8 bolts of course.

The block side plate on these mounts go where the single-stud mounts were (the original photo @timo439 posted had the stock replacement mounts shown -- which I didn't need because the MORE mounts replace them)

Thanks Eric, I bet that brings back some old memories:thumbsup:
I am going to do the same soon so this helps keeping me from searching... my real intention was getting you motivated to get back to your stroker swap.

Thanks again.

Sneaky bastard! Had a friend in town this weekend, so no love to it yet, but getting these mounts did make me want to put the stroker in place at least!
