HEI with Tach installed

I’m installing HEI on my scrambler and curious how do I reinstall my stock tach since I’m removing the computer?

I don't know about the stock tach, never had or dealt with one, but the HEI has a terminal in the cap to hook up a tach. No idea what the stock one uses for a signal and if that works for it.

The stock green wire come from the computer( which is removed) . Scratching my head on were to try and hook up the green wire from the HEI

It would depend on what kind of signal was on that green wire, so you have the FSM (factory service manual)?

When I installed an HEI, I got one of the repop tachs that look like the original and fit in the same hole. I don’t believe that you can use the oem tach now.

The factory tach is current triggered and the HEI is a square wave output so you would have to use an adapter to get the OEM tach to work such as this one below-
