So we are taking Cody's Scrambler (Gray) to Nationals. It has 360 and t18 in it with d44s front and rear sitting on 35s. It had a crazy 3in body lift, wiring issues, and some frame and body rust issues. Dustin helped clean up the wiring, fixed some of the rust issues, new brake booster, new aluminum radiator, swap out body lift for a more normal daystar kit. Cody's other Scrambler (Green) is has a spring over axle kit sitting on 35s. He felt that was to tall for being an overlanding style jeep. That is the background.

So now with the body lift cut down 35s are too big. We thought we would take the soa kit off the Green one and put on the Gray one, solving both problems. Got the rear pulled and checked the brackets. This is a nice soa kit, not sure who made it, however it was made for stock cj7/8 axles as the brackets fit the AMC 20 and are too small to fit over the D44 tubes, by about 1/8in. Haven't pulled the fronts to see the difference yet.

Question is, do we grind out the brackets to make them fit the d44s or try and order a lift kit in time to get installed before nationals?20250602_203149.jpg20250602_203135.jpg20250602_203123.jpg

Here are some pix of the jeeps. They loaded in reverse order of work we have been doing.

See if you can find some of the RE YJ 4” lift springs on amazon. Rear run $60 each and front are like $45. I bought 4 rear and put them on my Scrambler. Do that for the grey one and call it a day. Of course since YJ, you will need new shackles for the front, but OK.

I was hoping to see the postal down there. 😜

So it turns out the front which i thought would be hard will almost bolt right on. Have to do some minor grinding on passenger front ti open the slot that goes around the pumpkin. So that make me wonder if I should just grind out the backs to make them fit...
Have 20in braided brake lines. And shocks that measure 17in compressed and 26 extended. It think that would work..or like Dain said maybe just get springs. Would i need to lower transfer case either way? In more of quandry....

I vote to grind out the 1/8” for the rear and move on.
