Day 3...... So as expected, things never go without a struggle. After tacking, testing, cutting,(repeat 4 more times), I finally have the links where I want them and where they need to be. As it is right now, i have about 2.5" or so between the top of the tire and the wheel well when the upper link is on the underside of the body. The Ruffstuff axle truss I got just didn't work because of the height of the truss and the bracket on top of it was just too tall for a vehicle with a body(floor) running under 40" tires. I also did not like how the truss fit on the Ford 9" that I have. part was on the center section and the other side was on the tube. I ended up using a Rock Krawler truss which worked out fabulous. The lower link mounting let me get my up travel back fortunately. So I initially was going to run coil springs on this but reality has set in now. When the suspension is compressed, there is only about 2" between the underside of the frame and the axle tube. So once you get some spring mounts welded on the axle and the bottom of the frame, your 2" will be gone. Now add a coil spring which would be about 5" at coil bind, it just would not work. So now the decision has been made for me to install some coilovers. Welcome back to reality I guess.....
