Jeeps as landmarks

This CJ has been at this putt putt since the 70s.
Anyone else have a CJ that is a landmark?

Sort of in topic- does this ring a bell? Going on vacation to somewhere you have been before, and looking to see if all the Jeeps you spotted last time are still there?

Doesn't everyone do that?

I have an overnight in Cleveland and about 2 miles from the hotel is a house with 2 YJs and a CJ7 in the side yard. I always walk by them to check on them but have yet to meet the owner. I've been doing it for years.

I've got an 83 scrambler sitting in someone's blackberry patch 3 miles from my house that I didn't see for 6 years, just noticed it this spring and now It haunts me. Sometimes I just drive out of the way to see if the farmer is outside so I can say hi again.

When are you going to buy it?😁

There’s a Jeepster in the side yard of a local towing lot. It’s been there 10 years or more. I call once a year but always get “not for sale”. Some day I’ll just have to swing by with a wad of cash.

Year after year when I would go visit my parents over in Medford, I would see a couple of CJs that were pretty nice, but the one I always looked for was an early 50s military Dodge Power Wagon that was in very good condition.

Local guy with a 47 Power Wagon used on family ranch and I've been bugging him for years to sell. Finally got a "maybe" out of him and here comes this infamous Caldor fire and no more Power Wagon, along with barns and pretty much everything but the house.

That's bad, what a loss of property

This place is now on my list of to-dos!
I'd put a bikini top on that cj, mount some drive-in trays & only let guests who drive up in a jeep eat in it. Gimmicky, yes, but there are lots of jeepers out there whom I guess would eat there too

And…headed for the coast on a little mini vacation- get away from the smoke and a little R&R before coming back and getting everything winterized. However…spotted something in someone’s yard. Was able to find a phone number and email from the address. Waiting on a reply
The pic is from Google street view. Google claims 2021 but there’s now a chicken pen built around it and it looks to be covered with chicken poop. Not good unless it helps with the price! My wife said we don’t need another project. I replied with “ just like we don’t need 6 horses that you never ride.” End of discussion. I think I came out on top for once!

Well, I spoke with the owner today. Turns out it was fully restored 2-3 years ago, got the tailgate bent in a minor fender bender, and has sat since. We never really settled on a price because the offer he claims he turned down a couple years ago was way more than I wanted to pay. He also has a true convertible 67 with the continental kit, a CJ-6 ( behind the blue Jeepster) a CJ-5 with a built 304, a CJ-7 rolling project, Scrambler roll bars and a ton of parts. I may revisit this one in the future.
