Similar to the Tuffy 046-01 that would fit behind a rear seat but doesn't cost $1,000? It would be nice to have something to throw my brief case in while I'm running errands after work.
 
You could possibly go with this if it's just for your brief case. I think it would fit. I had one in my TJ before I took the back seat out. Very handy.

These Knack (32") fit behind the seat in a Scrambler or 2004-2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. They can be found cheap in the second hand market. This one was $100. Lockable with 2 padlocks on the side of box.

For many years, I had a trailer box right behind my bulkhead. I kept lots of crap in there. It got tight for space eventually and now I have a smittybuilt box with a sliding drawer in it. You can put it up against the tailgate so that you have to drop the tailgate to open the drawer. But I mounted mine up to the bulkhead and I can open the drawer without opening the tailgate, but I have to climb into the bed to get stuff. So most would put it against the tailgate. I chose not to. Let me try to find pics of either or both.
