Metal replacement tubs recommendations

I would say make it ! As long as you are going to keep it for a long time, and your body is fairly rotten, and you can't or don't have the time to fix it yourself or get someone else to do it, go with the aluminum one. You probably won't have to deal with that for the rest of your life !

Long time :rotfl: yeah, that’s the big appeal there.

Paying someone would end up more than the Aqualu, so that’s definitely out.

Mine maybe isn’t “fairly rotten” really, but I can see enough bad to know it’s time to finally do something.

The real trick is that once I’m into the body coming off, I’m going to want to do every little freaking thing  and that’s where the months and years really start adding up. :banghead:

Yea maybe years is right. Then that is where the 2nd jeep comes in for needing one to drive. Talked to a body shop owner a few weeks ago. A couple of months ago he had someone come in with a CJ that the body was bad, and the guy had come in with an aluminum body and the shop had swapped it out. He was amazed how well it went because the new aluminum body was so exact as the old one. Said it went real well.

Dont forget to also factor in that MD Juan does not make their tubs in RHD either so you would end up having to drill holes, blank things off and also steal bulkhead parts from your current tub.
No idea on Aqualu, you are lucky to have a choice but if they can give you a RHD version with proper door openings and a guarantee the world cab will fit then to me its a no brainer.
Its either that or get welding8-)

No one does, so it’s the same with anything other than fixing mine or cutting out the firewall from mine and swapping it on another tub.

I haven't seen any recent threads on fiberglass. Any good ones out there these days? Honestly, if I were to do it all over again I wouldn't spend so much time on an original tub like I did. It always takes ten times longer than you think.

If aqualu can modify the firewall for RHD, and you are not concerned with the originality, I’d say go for it.

If your tub is decent you could probably sell it to offset some of the cost.

Having spent some time with both an Aqualu tub and World Cab tops, I don't foresee any issues bolting them together.
