I tell it like I sees it.
Unless you don't like the CJ-6-ish proportions of the rear wheel well position (and I don't have an issue given the practicality of the departure angle improvement it creates), what more could this build have?
There's a reason that the JKUs are on every trail everywhere being wheeled to beat all, they just plain WORK off-road. Old Jeep purists may not like the look, and for good reason, but anyone who has driven them off-road or seen what they can do in person with
shockingly little work knows they're performance is superior in every way to any previous Jeep
with a similarly small amount of work. A Rubicon JKU with a 2" budget boost, swapped on flat fenders (no cutting, just bolt on), a regear and 37s and you can take on pretty much anything anywhere. Jeep got the underpinnings of the JKU right and the Pentastar was the last piece of the puzzle.
Yes, they have inherent weak spots, yes the front axle housing may snap, yes the factory ball joints suck, yes there's death wobble issues as they age, but every Jeep in history has had things wrong with it from the factory.
What we have here takes care of every possible issue with a JKU and gives it a dead-simple driveline with CJ looks. You can drop Hemis and LS motors into a JKU, but it still looks like a JKU and has computers and wires and ABS and.... You can swap in a Cummins but it still looks like a JKU.
If nothing else, it's fantastic because coming up with something that I haven't seen yet on a JKU is a rare occurrence!
I'm in love with this build.
