Definitely going to be worth it - you're gonna have a 'new' frame under that Scrambler along with the satisfaction and knowledge that you turned every single bolt on it. Will certainly help when it comes to making any required repairs in the future.

Understand that you've had unplanned set-backs along the way, but when are you thinking the tub swap will occur?

The original plan was October. So I am only a little beyond that now (work hasn't helped). I see the fuel lines as the last little thing before I can start the major disassembly process of the body. And hopefully once that starts it will be quicker, but knowing my luck.......

Hopefully January. The colder temps won't help.

Yea I saw that, glad your ok. It made me think, I'm a maintenance man in a factory and I use those disks quite often at work and due to safety regs I usually wear a full face shield there. Now at home, most of the time I wouldn't have used the shield just safety glasses. I'm thinkin' I'm going to change my ways. (or try to, I'm hard headed) These things happen I guess. I was putting the side glass in the hard top of my CJ-5 several years ago. It was getting dark, almost had it in twice. I had soaked the rubber with auto trans fluid to help it slip in. I was pushing and it slipped, then I almost dropped it after juggling it I hit myself in the mouth with it and slightly chipped a tooth. lol I sat the glass down and walked away for the evening. I'd rather have scars an such livin' life instead of watchin' it on TV though.

I whole heartedly agree. I will always know where that scar came from. And it was me using my own hands (and tools) to get this thing back on the road.

I am an accountant and work with people who are in utter disbelief that I do this kind of stuff. And it is times like that that make me reconsider my career. And by the way, I am the guy they always come to to trouble shoot their car issues. And that is scary.

Had not thought of it that way, but probably. I know I always seem to have cuts and black crud on my hands. No matter how well I try to clean them. And the latex gloves don't seem to last the length of time it takes to do the job I am working on so they are kind of useless.
 
Do you latex gloves or nitrile gloves. If not nitrile, try them, you will never buy latex ones again.

Another big thank you to Randy for the template to drill the holes for the front shock towers. The holes lined up perfectly when I test fit tonight.
 
Planned to get under the old one and get the e-brake cable and stuff off and tackle the steering box removal. The rain made me decide to stay in the garage. So I have installed my Riddler Diff cover and did some paint touch up. Next will be the fuel lines. Hope that I figure the placement of those relatively quickly.

Wow. These fuel lines were easy to straighten but now I need to figure which is which without taking the old ones off. Time to crawl under the old one.
 
So using a pic I found on the web, I ran the soft lines to the tank (after installing the hard lines of course). But I have a question. I have run the wider lines to the sending unit/pickup. But where does the thin line go? I mounted the had line along the driver side frame rail, as it is on my old frame. But I am switching to a 20 gallon tank. Does that matter? Where do I run the soft line from the end of that to?

You need the yellowish plastic T in the picture to attach the two liquid check valves to the SS line.
