Had a couple of good nights in the shop. No new pics, but the Trans, tcase, and crossmember are in and functional. Wiring is complete except the tach and a/c power. All I am lacking for it to move and stop are the rear brake caliper hoses and the driveshafts. I am hoping to have it moving under it's own power by the weekend. :bacon:
 
I drove it around the yard, and it stops. No pics, it's dark. Now I've got to finish putting it together, plates, and insurance. We're headed to silver lake Wednesday, hopefully I can drive the scrambler there.

Got the center counsel, passenger seat, and seat belt brackets bolted in tonight.

And drove it out in the sun, boy is it dirty from being in the shop.

Half doors on......................Passenger side gave me fits. Something has changed since the trial fit. The opening is on the verge of being too small. I think it is going to work, but the door shuts stiff.

It now has insurance, Picking up plates after work, should be doing the first road test tonight :headbang:


I do have a couple issues to deal with. The springs have settled about 1 1/2" in the first 5 miles around the farm, which means the lower shock mounts are going to be moved down enventually.

The other issue is the front tires will contact the fenders if I'm turning and compressing. I need to do some checking and measuring, I might be able to trim the fender and flare to resolve this.

The good is the springs seem to ride really nice.
 
I love your roll bar. That's exactly what I want. I also run similar tail lights and they are awesome for letting people know when you are braking due to the contrast of going from white/ silver to bright red.

I see you and alot of people are putting 3rd row seats in their Scramblers. Is that legal to add a seat to a vehicle? What will the insurance co say when you have to give them pics of it? Anybody had to deal with that issue? I guess you could say the same with the back seat because Scramblers didnt have them from factory. Im wondering if there was an accident and some one was injured if there would be insurance and legal issues.

in Michigan it is legal to add a seat as far as I know. As long as it is properly secured and has seat belts that are DOT approved. I bought Hummer H1 nos seat belts off ebay for all of my seats. They are dot approved, mil spec, look like jeep seat belts, and were $80 for 6 shipped.

Made the first drive of any distance today, a 2 hour ride on the back roads up to silver lake.* Went good, ran the wipers for the first few miles. Then the sun came out, and turned the jeep into a oven. Tried out the ac and it would freeze me out. No major issues, just a few minor things to take care of.

Ordered some laser quality stainless steel, cut it to size, and polished the sides
