You should be proud. You thread is title "Need Direction", I don't think you need any direction. You seem to be doing great on your own.
I'd stay away from the T5. Sell it and use the money to fix the T176.
I've got a T5 in one of mine. I NEVER use 5th gear. Speed limit around here is 60 just about everywhere and my T176 does great in 4th gear at that speed.
T176 is a much better transmission. Tear into it and see exactly what you need.
Spankrjs, I know the aftermarket shift forks are crap, but the top covers are no good either?
