New headlamp question

And just like that, I get a text that QTec is having a sale. 10% off $300, 15% off $500…

Guess I’ll bite.

I will probably get a close at the PA Jeep Show in 2 weeks, not sure what % it will be though.

These are Holley Retrobrights I installed. No cutting. Plug and play. Mine are in classic color. Feels like they are in the JW Speaker realm as they are an exceptional beam. There are some good comparisons on Youtube to see what would work for you bes.

I’m sure they would fit great with a stock cooling system- and in that case I would probably bite the bullet and buy a pair. But I have an oversized radiator- about 5 inches wider- so my clearance at the rear of the headlamp bucket is minimal. I’ve been looking at Qtec ones this morning- I’m getting to really like them. I don’t need them immediately so I’ll probably hold off and see if I luck into a sale.

This is the pass side. The a/c line complicates things further…View attachment 103645

It’s hard to see from this shot, but it’s the best I could do. There’s barely 1/2” between the radiator tank and the headlamp harness plug, and that’s using a right-angle insulated plug. I had to notch the outer bucket just to get the harness to clear.

I am in a similar situation. The placement of my trans cooler (poor planning) made me need to alter my pass side bucket a little. I can’t go deeper either. While new headlights are not the top of my list, they are on the list and the Wtec ones look good to me as well. I like a stock look.

Currently I have h4 lights from a friend’s TJ. They look stock and work better than the old lights. And with the relays, no longer run power through the switch. But the LEDs look soooooo much brighter at night.

Well, I ordered a pair of the QTec Stealth headlamps and a pair of the Kentrol black stainless bezels. I’ll post up pics when they arrive. $355 for the lamps and the bezels with the discount. Not too bad…

This is the post I had mentioned earlier...
(I tried finding it in my posts, since I had replied to it, without any luck.)

The Holley site also has some good information on the required space needed for installation. (the socket in the back looks like it could be an issue for some that no longer have OEM clearances.)
