I just got these installed today. As usual, what was going to be a one hour job, turned into about a 5 hour job. I had round LED tail lights before, basically the same kind of units that would be mounted on a tractor trailer rig. They require a 4 inch round hole to mount. The problem was that it occurred to me that I did not have any backup lights, so I found a new version with white backup lights integrated around the outside edge. So....I had to finish out some harness and connections in the back for the backup circuit. Then of course I discovered that the backup light circuit had never been wired in previously, so I had to find the switch side of the wire, then figure out if I had a switch on the transmission already, or maybe switch integrated into the transmission indicator (it did). Next of course I had to find where beneath the dash the indicator board was planted, how to get it out, then of course it was not calibrated and since I had changed the transmission to a 700R4 from a TH350 I discovered I did not have enough wires to the indicator itself because the old tranny did not have an overdrive, sooo away we went into chasing down wire runs and adding one 16 gauge wire, the re-calibrating the driver module, figuring out how to get it back into its resting spot and WHEW.....my hour job was finished finally on day two.
I think they look nice. I actually like the look better than the square boat trailer looking lights. I dunno, just do.
