I posted some pictures of my CJ-8's in the "what color is your scrambler" thread and got some feedback on my other toys in the background. One was a camo blazer (ex-military) and a 76 IH Scout. I know we all have other toys besides the Scramblers so I wanted to post some pictures of mine. I think this is the correct place to post this type of thread.

The Camo Blazer was sold to a buddy and replaced with three other retired army blazers. They will be getting a fresh paint job soon.

Got this for well under half of it's actual value. That makes it a lot more fun to play with.

I'm not sure if this is really a toy, since I ride it to work almost every day, but it is a lot of fun. The silver and blue Nomad is my current ride, the black and silver 900 was my first bike. There are still times I wish I had held onto the 900 to use as a spare. I'm really racking up the miles on the Nomad.

My favorite thing to do is this. I have been riding for 23 years on the street and on the track for 10 years. I trashed this bike so now I ride the GSXR in the second picture on the race track as much as i can afford to do.

But wait... I thought you were only supposed to haul *** around town? The track? really? ;-)

I used to "race" (autocross) and found that it made not "racing" on the street much easier. What wasn't easy was thinking about stuffing a $30,000++ car in the wall at Road Atlanta. Sold that car and went back to playing with Jeeps.

It is not a cheap sport by any means. I have owned 8 bikes in the last 7 years looking for that "perfect" track bike and finally nailed it but it is what I love besides my Jeeps. I just have to be realistic when balancing out the pocket change for both hobbies. The Jeep I am building may not get the best of everything but I am fine with that. Yeah the car would take a much harder hit in the wallet if you crashed at the track than my bike. I have been down a few times and mostly I only had a broken lever and some rash on the bike but otherwise it still functioned fine.
 
Watching guys like you race bikes scares the crap out of me. You are soooo close to the ground. I would be afraid of getting all of my skin taken off then getting run over by another bike. You have bigger coconuts than me.
 
It's all about wear good leather. I crashed at 85mph in a corner and slide across the track and didn't have a scratch. You have to buy a good race suit with hard armor and keep the helmet under 5 years old. I don't worry about the ground so much as the guy behind me if I am on the pavement. Getting run over scares me a bit.
