I don't get the plates instead of lights either. I swapped the plates with lights from my yellow waggie on my 7 as I liked the lights more but I kinda wish I'd kept them now View attachment 50106

The really stupid thing is how they had to fit plates where the rear light stack was on all 4x4s with rear mounted spares. Pretty much what you said Eric. Crazy.

Today I am actually doing an oil change on it. It got parked late June when I lost the clutch when the silly plastic MC blew off the firewall which then led me to do the leaking turbo to manifold seal. Finally cranked it up last night for first time in 6-8 weeks. That photo above is a file photo from pre winter storage 2013.

old photo but the one on the back right is the 78 wagoneer...it got a cover well, cause I bought a cover for it many years ago. the far left is stuck in that opposite corner blocked in also so it got a cover. This must have been when I rolled the M715 in pre winter 2013. the overlander has never been covered but I do keep hood propped up and stuff has made its way into a the engine compartment / storage compartment.
 
I was worried this person did not know what they were talking about until I read that it had the rare V4
