Recommendation for Diesel Swap?

I did the R2.8 swap and used a shop in Platteville, Colorado (Herring Auto). Justin did a great job and built all the custom bracketry to hold the radiator, after-cooler and electric fans.

Interesting timing seeing this at the top. Last week my friend in Dallas bought a complete 3.0 Duramax with the 10 speed. He is analyzing the PCM to see what it will take to run on the bench/standalone. Then he will look at integrating with his TJ. If he can figure it out, I will probably look at doing the same.

Custom front bracket to hold the cooling package. Hade to cut the back of the grill to fit it in.

DBurnum, What is your drive train setup? Gears, tire size and transmission. Do you have MPG numbers too?

I have been doing some research and can't find anyone that has done a swap with a Liberty diesel. I currently have a diesel Liberty and want to put it in my Scrambler. The hardest part looks to be the electronics.

I would love to hear more about this. I think the 3.0 seems like a great engine for jeep swap with weight and power...Can't find anyone who has worked the PCM and harness yet. They have for the 2.8 Duramax but the 3.0 is lighter and has more power and torque. Welcome to contact me direct.

I will let you know if/when he gets it fired up. He has bought most of what he needs to start it on the pallet. Fuel filter modules, lift pumps. It’s a complicated little engine.

We had a rubicon trip and his work got busy so this is on the back burner. Hopefully he will get working on it soon as I really love the idea of this engine.
