Should I get excited about this?

I have a spare engine trans and x-fer case if anyone is really interested.

Also that Beam Dana 44 front is cool for a desert 2wd racer. Just an empty tube with Dana 44 outers.

Once the vehicle is in the yard you cannot buy the entire thing. You can only pick it apart. Needless to say the doors are now gone and some other tidbits. It's a shame to leave the rest but it's here for now. Is there anything else worth trying to get?

The bench seat if its still there. And the top. And the tub. And the w frame. And the dash panel. And the ...

No sir. U need to grab the tub too unless you want to go all Gauchoness on it and make your own tub or bulkhead or....

I figured that. All I took were the doors and a few misc parts.

There were some Spanish folk there looking to pull the motor.

The guy from the yard says he'd hold it there for a while for me if I wanted before they scrap it. I told him I'd be back for more parts.

The top looked easy enough to remove I just don't have use for it. I may go pull the top,
fenders, etc. incase down the road someone can use them. Shame to let them get crushed

Dirty B thanks for posting. We'll have to grab a beer next time one of us crosses the river although, those gators are pretty big!

If the Spanish folk didn't take the motor, I'd be interested in some parts from it. I purchased a new crate SD-33T (turbo edition) from a gentleman a while back. However, I stole the starter off it to put in a diesel Scout I had. If the starter and alternator are still there, they would both be nice to snag. Also have a tug here without a motor (previous owner removed) so I'd like the motor mounts (both frame and engine sides), so I can put the SD-33T in it. However, those would be quite the job to remove.

They were the easiest to remove!

Will the top from the 10 fit directly on the bulkhead of an 8?

Thank you so much for going to get those for me! I owe you one....wait...you are keeping them? Can someone at least pull the glass, I know West Coast Customs has someone that will make more if they have the originals.

Haha. Don't ya just love this place. It's so much fun it should be a reality show. ;)

One scene in the scripted show would be a large burn out scene as JA drops everything including his kids and wife (ok he has neither but come on, this is a reality show, we will hire actors) almost chokes em from the smoke and then races at 90mph past LA speed traps and cops that still wear brimmed hats to get those doors.
:):)

I was just kidding around. I am pretty sure he has a top that needs these doors

Correct. I needed a set for a top that I have.

You mean "my" top:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::thumbsup:

I talked to JA on the phone about the 10. He said it was really rusty, with a bunch of home made "patch over rust while I learn to weld home made pieces", if that makes sense? Some of the patches are in layers. The tub is basically shot, not worth rescuing, unless you wanted a template.

Last he saw, the Spanish people were trying to start the engine, not sure how that went. If someone really needs engine parts off of it, and the Spanish people didn't take the engine, he can probably go back for a few things.

Taking the glass out and sending it to someone who can make new pieces sounds like a good idea, I would just be terrified of shipping the glass. If we can get that worked out, I will help JA pull the glass, if he needs help.

These 10's aren't that rare, they pop up on eBay/auctions pretty regularly. just rare one lands in the back yard, so to speak:twocents:
