SJScrambler - Getting Started

Had to push it to the side to get the CJ-10a in to dissasemble... I am having too many requests for just parts... so, parting it out...

The fenders look to be original and are in pretty nice shape... although the passenger side looks to have been kissed lightly as the reflector/marker light is at a slight angle.

Got a lot of the small stuff knocked off of it and got the dash apart... making progress, just not a lot of time with the holidays and kids not in school.

Had to run to the local Tractor Supply to get some new pins and such... all wearable items and this needs to go on the tractor possibly tonight :)

got the rollbar out, broke 3 torx doing so, then started getting cutty with it as this tub is too far gone... and funny enough, this is the best one I have had in a while ;) Have to get to that Dana 44 though and this is the easiest way

Started to snow as I headed in... 6 inches maybe so far this morning, not supposed to end until tomorrow morning...

Swapped some tires/rims onto the truck project that came off the Jeep I am disassembling so now they are all the same size/tread and it sits level.
The CJ7 hopefully comes apart this weekend... the snow really set us back a few days with no school 2 days!

This tear down has been trying my patience... a lot of seized bolts... all 10 of the body mounts spun in their holders... getting closer

Been throwing every tool in the arsenal at it... sawzall/torch/grinding/discs/BFH... they all come eventually.
Just went to the recycler and got rid of all the body parts and pieces that won't be used... amazing that the guy knew it was a CJ.

The real sad thing is how much you got for all that scrap. Bet it was not enough for a 6 pack.

Scrap steel prices have tanked in the last few years.
 
Tonight is the night to push the project back into the center stage to start the body mount mockup for the tub/cab as well as trial part fitting... I wanted to get it into a roller bolted down before everyone shows up for the holidays... also a good chance to clean the garage up under there!

So, all the Jeeps are torn down, the garage is swept up and I am moving forward... did some test fitting with the body spacers and the hood to see if we are still square and such.

the CJ10a tug body line in the corner is 1/4 taller than the bed... so might have to trim the spacers to get a nice even line, or cheat the diffference 1/8" on top/bottom... it was late, I have to get a better set of eyes on it over the weekend.
