Great journey so far! Thanks for all your posts.

What an adventure you are having. Thank you so much for sharing.Next day we got up, took a quick dip in the Arctic to wake us up, then headed back down the Dempster. After 4 days on the Dempster, I was getting kinda burned out and wanted to head back.

On the way back, I stopped by the spot where I broke down. You can see the drag marks from the front tires

Got it back to Inuvik, where another amazing Canadian welded the tie rod. At that point I didn't care about trying to save the tie rod, I'll have to come up with some other fix when I get home.
Before the trip, I wanted to convert a spare alternator to a welder, but I was already too busy just getting the jeep ready. When I get back home I'm moving that project up in priority. Having an onboard welder would have made life a lot easier.

Stocked up on some last minute supplies, filled up the tank, and hit the road again for another 3 days of the Dempster

Spent the night at a random pullout along the road. Honestly, it's hard to pick a bad campsite along the Dempster, everywhere you stop has a great view.

I love your journey. I lived in Petersburg, Alaska for quite a while. I learned how to fly there, and spent many years working from one end of the state to the other. Also spent time in the Yukon back when it was easier for American helicopter pilots to fly in Canada. I always tell anybody willing to listen that if you haven't been to Alaska, put it on your bucket list. It is the most unbelievable place on the planet. Be safe, both of you. What an adventure you are having. Thank you so much for sharing.
